Make no mistake it is a very neat car. Essentially a tool room replica, but with original motor which adds value. This reminds me of the Birdcage replica Crosthwaite & Gardiner built which recently sold on BaT for $506k. I believe this 151/4 replica having the original Lemans engine adds some value as do I believe it being a spot-on toolroom copy of what was a record-setting car (198mph I believe?) at Lemans that year, not to mention Maserati's final proper attempt at Lemans, albeit a non-factory attempt. just an extremely cool car and done right. I don't think that pushes the value of it anywhere beyond the $1m mark though.

I sometimes wonder what it could have done for Maserati had a privateer driving one of Alfieri's somewhat underdeveloped cars taken a Lemans victory after the factory pulled out of racing in 57. Justifiable reason for them to come back if they were selling more cars as a result.....

Something about the nose just doesn't look right even as a replica. It looks like a lot of fun to drive anyway but you might end up killing yourself if you push it too hard.

Very interesting rebody. I like it! The custom exhaust manifold is beautiful too. What are the chances this creation will hammer for more than a pristine original 3500gt now??

Very nice custom design, much of a 250 SWB, some Zagato and A6 GCS too.
The front face is a bit straight and departing though

The front of that Bora looks like the classic LHM braking mistake "Oh crap there're no brakes".

Bora Group 4 evocation AM117-024 in Sweden is now online at BAT for a week, I asked a friend in California who is very good with BAT to handle this for me and the owner.

This car is an engineering jewel.

Not a true Gr.IV replica and, as modified, it loses originality.
But it looks to be a formidable "period", track-prepared and at the same time road supercar.
Very attractive restomod, for knowledgeable amateur!

while it’s kind of a neat car playing homage to the Thepenier Boras, what do you do with it other than being a static display? It’s not something you could really take on the road beyond a short drive. It’s not eligible for vintage racing, that leaves it being a track car. It would be a rolling chicane on the track with modern cars. It’s probably the right money

I guess we know what happened to two more now! Picture quality is poor, but I think the rear wheels have 4-bolts which would make these '87 spiders.

Just popped up on ebay today.
Always like the 3500GT and Sebring. Prices appear all over the spectrum. And it appears difficult, as a long term vintage Ferrari owner, to locate any information about these gorgeous cars.
My experience with the seller, has been less that commendable. Just FWIW.

Looks like a nice largely original example. When doing business with this seller, BHCC, or Gullwing, I just assume they know absolutely nothing about the car. Let the car speak for itself, but just like anything, do your homework. I find all these inline 6 60s Maserati's an incredible bargain

Are there any research tools you are aware of for this series of cars?
The silver Sebring on ebay at GW was offered for $125K by another vendor not long ago. No takers. Short video of it being driven around a parking lot! I can imagine what money pits these cars are neglected.

The best research tool I can think of around these parts is Eugene O'Gorman. I'm not sure how you'd be able to get him involved at the level you'd like though. I don't know that he does PPIs but he might speak with on the telephone. He does post on here and he's owned just about every Maserati GT car there is and fixed and restored a lot of them. He's an expert on the 6 cylinder cars. He might be able to hook you up with someone does PPIs that he considers knowledgeable enough.

He can be found in this thread. Send him a PM and see if he knows of someone to do a PPI.
I'd also give you the usual advise of joining a Maserati club and go to some local events to find other owners of a model your interested in. Don't be in a hurry often caused by seeing something for sale that catches your eye. Research BEFORE you hunt.
