  1. If thats real that is horrible and dont way for the 430 and get a lambo. I still think the front is photochopped. The rear looks pretty real..

The front end pic is definately a p-chop, the areas around the front headlights are really blurry as well as the grills.

IMO it will likely look more like the rendering "spy" photo posted. Although i'm betting that they will retain the two grills rather than the big mono "smily faced" grill.

I have nothing against the rear end...its like the Enzo. Now the front will it be like? I'm not sure if I like it.

Too bad we don't have a pic from the side.

I'm still not convinced that the photo with the "sharknose" front intakes is photoshopped. The entire photo is rather fuzzy; remember that it was taken, perhaps from a significant distance, from a moving vehicle. I've seen other photos which everyone swore were photoshopped which turned out to be genuine.

Wow, I love the back, it has that "Enzo Ferrari" look to it. But it still has its own identity and looks very aggressive to me. The front I am split on, the end intakes are so-so, but I like the center intake and the lower lip on the fascia. The new headlamps and mirrors look good as well. I can't wait to see the new wheels and what they have changed to the interior.

So they are saying near 500 bhp now? Wow this things gonna move!

It's always the same: everytime a new Ferrari comes out, everyone complaints it's ugly. I'm getting sick of it. poseurs.

it took me about 20 seconds ....It has grown on me now and I find it very attractive and aggressive , that sharknose looks just like a Ferrari should : intimidating and over the top while the rear is a clear Enzo heritage

also I want to point those pix were taken by a F-chatter micho360 for some reason he send them first to Fede Ferrari (another F-chatter) from Spain

but still I don't get it what are they doing here in Mexico?

i also think it looks great! ferrari will sell out everything it can make and the 360 will finally begin ti decline in price, just like the 355's did before.

the mexico connection is surprising, though...maybe someone is pulling our leg?

theres nothing "poser" about notl iking a Ferrari. TO be honest I can name plenty of cars that look better than Ferraris. Pininfarina is showing that its not the god of carstyling afterall like everyone seems to think. the V8 line stopped being beautiful at 355.

Interesting pics from Mexico....IMO the pic of the front is almost certainly photoshopped WITHOUT question. On close up the front air intakes look very fuzzy and unclear and are not consistent with the rest of the car..they are also pink in the corners, where the work has been done!

The rear of the car on the other hand looks genuine.....very Enzo like , but IMO looks 'busy' like others have stated and a big too 'fat' in my opinion..

Interesting though, im sure it will be an awesome car when it comes out (whatever it looks like) but ill always be a fan of the older cars (355 F40 etc...) as im not a fan of the newer ferrari designing/styling.

So, all you are saying is that you find the 360 ugly. A geniune opinion, but far less dramatic than that the V8 stopped be pretty after the 355.

Apart from the styling of the 360, you have to appreciate Ferrari´s position in deciding what to do with a new car. Where as the 308 was a clear descendant of the 246 Dino (yet far more modern) and the 328 of the 308, the 348 was a totally new design. Allthough the 348 is a 1991-car, it was, designwise, a step back. The car was based upon the Testarossa and that is a 1984-car! The 355 made all Testarossa-reference on the 348 dissapear, and finally we had a clear look at what Ferrari had intended to achieve in the first place. And yes, the 355 is one of the best designs Ferrari ever put on the road since the 365 boxer 12.

But you cannot take it easy from there. Ferrari could´ve made the choice to simply do a modernisation of the 355-body in order to accomodate the 360 amd leave it at that. That would be the Porsche-way of doing things. The 911 is a solid base which is only every other two years only styled for modern likings. But thats it. And look at what happens, people are freaking out because the new one has round headlights. Like it had many many times before. Who really cares? The 911 and icon of sportscars? Sure, when you lack the creative guts to do something different, a car will become an icon just because it is there for such a long time.

I was dissapointed at first when I saw the 550 Maranello. It was meant to replace the Testarossa, and so it did, but it had nothing to do with the Testarossa. So, when looking at the Maranello, I forced myself not to compare it to the Testarossa. I forgot everything about the Testarossa and tried to appreciate the 550 on it´s own merits. Then you see the best possible configuration (12 cylinder in the front), with the perfect body for a true super-GT. Ferrari could´ve built a midengined 12 cylinder, outragously lined, racer in order to replace the Testarossa. That would be the logical thing, and perhaps the safest thing to do. Yet, Ferrari didn´t do it the safe way I applaude them for it.

I applaude Ferrari for taking risks and keep on searching for new forms, new design-philosophies. It´ll mean you displease some people, for never has a good design sprouted from trying to please everyone.

I like the Enzo rear grill and side mirrors.

I don't like the body anel lines around the rear lights and the shark nose intakes on the front.

I get the feeling the whole business is going retro. The Porsche's have ditched the 911 fried eggs lights to make the 997 look like a longer version of the 993, Ford have come out withthe GT, the 612 followed a historic design with its side scallop and if this is the 430, the factory will claim those intakes were inspired by the old shark nose F1 car.

Now all we have to do is guess how the 575 will copy other tipo? Mondial side scoops? Lauda's tall F1 air scoop? Tyrell's F1 six wheel configuration?

    bottom line is it sucks

1 the whole enzo look is cool on the enzo leave it alone and leave it on the enzo only

2 the back grill is to small i love the challenge style grill loos much more aggresive that way this just looks like a danty grill more pretty then aggresive.

3 the front looks terrible besides the front bumper its the same shape and hood leave the lights alone. looks like a aftermarket bumper

4 the thing is the 360 is such a amazing car and a brake through in design as goes for the 355 and the TR and the enzo and so on why would ferrari try a elaborate on such a already refined Challenge Stradale leave it alone and let the 360 and CS fade in the memory books of the great ferraris. They should concentrate on designing a totally new car one that brakes the industry once again. Not emulate so stupid Hamman body Kit. if this is the direction ferrari is going man am i glad i got one of the last great models of the ferrari collection.

the back is cut off to short, ie... gallardo.

overall looks like a 360 with a cheap enzo body kit, see what FNA
made me do? i just put cheap and enzo in the same sentence.

If that is the actual car, it looks horrible. Absolutely horrible. The current 360 looks much, much nicer.

I really like the rear! When I first looked at the first pics of the Enzo, I thought it was really ugly (and I know I am not the only one who think this) But when I looked at it more times, I was going to like it more and more... I think the same with this F430. It would be nice if the production car has this rear! I think it's really exotic, sporty and agressive. But I only hope they will change the front! I haven't seen any good-looking pics of a nice (new) front for this car. But maybe they have a surprising other front on the real car.... We will see in a few weeks I think

I've seen all the sketches, drawings, photoshops and camouflaged pictures in the last 5 or 6 months and I'm afraid these last pictures are far from being a photoshop...

Anyone in for suing Ferrari & Pininfarina on this issue? I just think we don't deserve this.

I TOTALLY agree, people always ***** and complain BEFORE they see cars in person. While I am not totally in love with the new nose, I do like certain aspects of it, but hey it's different and I need to see a better shot. I know it will grow on me. Heck I really disliked the 360 when it first came out. I was like they replaced the F355 with this?! Now I prefer it over the F355. But the back is seriously tuff looking. I like the Enzo Ferrari aspects it has, and the new splitter looks damn good, plus the new exhaust tips are larger and look great....good job Ferrari....now lets see the rest of it!

I think more than a few people on this board have deposits on this thing. I don't think we're poseurs if we want a new car, and have an expectation of design which is not being met.

Myself, I have been profoundly depressed over BMW styling (bought 9 in last 6 years) to the point they make NOTHING I would own. Porsche lost me with the 996 lump, as with BMW, they drive great, but are heinously ugly to look at, and reliability (engines, PCCB, resale) sux.

Ferrari used to be a bankable stunner with every launch, now we see the 612, the 430, the Enzo, the F50 even, and wish for more. I still look at pics of my old cars, my families old cars, 30 years out, and love 'em as much as the 1st time I saw 'em.

Great design does not "grow on you"...it reaches out and grabs you by the nutz and won't let go. The Enzo is brutal, but not handsome. The 612 is a group of reminiscent details strung together, barely, by indifferent lines. The 430 is a heavy handed facelift using details from 156/330TRI/Enzo/LM, without cohesiveness. The Chops at least have been cohesive, if not Pininfarina.

I cannot tell you how sad it is to finally see the new "whatever" and wonder what the heck you should buy now...new M5 vs old one, case in point. Some of us are lucky enough to buy these things new and keep 'em, and that doesn't meet the definition of poseurs.

Guess I'll just wait for my DB9 and the 997/998 TT, drive the crap outta my shark while I wait for Bangle and whomever did the latest cars at Ferrari to buy a book about old Ferrari's/BMW's and learn how they all connect.

    Not holding my breath,
    Lee
