Probably old news but the General Manager of my dealership says the new engine will be stroked Maser to 4.3 liters (doesn't sound like much) rated at 490shp.

@ LouB: 490 hp sounds nice. So far the highest number I've heard.

@ Ade: That would be great! Can you scan it?

Another possible data point on timing. My dealer states they were contacted by FNA (as were all U.S. dealers) and requested to submit a list of those people with deposits on 360's. The word was that all of these 360's would be built, but not to accept any new deposits on 360 from the time this happened out. They are still ordering coupes and spyders with both transmissions. They did a quick calculation, based on the number of cars they can order and current delivery times (the factory has picked up pace) and they estimate that it is close to 2 years for Ferrari to complete this backlog.

Now, obviously, Ferrari SpA can stop when it wants and say tough to those with deposits but no cars. Also of note, they have not yet received their first build slot for a 612, and don't think that they will see one before the end of the year. If the 360 replacements bows at Geneva, I think the first cars won't hit here until at least Dec '05 or so, and likely it will be later into the spring of '06.

I love the second picture: Very aggressive looking and hunched forward.

So much anticipation for this model. Hopefully its worth the wait & none of us will be disappointed. I'm more concerned about the looks than the power for this new one.

who cares..it will be a hell of a machine folks ! I hope they make it a bit more "racier" than the actual 360. I find it a bit too heavy even if the handling is superb.

If only I had bought the Stradale :-(

    kidding..I love my 360 Spider.

    Didier.

That rear end looks awefully chunky. I hope the real car looks better. Thus far, I'm not too impressed. I hope I am wrong...

Re: silver car with yellow Enzo in background

If that is the actual rear end peaking through the disguise, it looks like it could be the end of the rear challenge grille option.

Guys, have a look on this site in the future models sections from time to time too... It's often very accurate! http://www.italiaspeed.com/ Info and spypics on the 360 evolution there. They expect it early next year with 500hp...!

They also have a pic of a short wheel based Scaglietti lookalike wich could be the 575 evolution. Info says it would be 6.0 V12 630hp maybe named 600 Imola and launched at the end of... this year!

With regard to the pic I posted of the silver car under the black tape, you can sort of see, if you look at the angular area by the rear lights, that it is just part of the disguising. YouI believe that the rear won't appear to come up almost as high or be as angular on the rear car. In other words, the rear will end pretty much below the lights, and the lights will sit on top like on the Enzo, without all that extra body next to them.

    Damn'! So sorry! Late again!
I think I'll just shut up now... I'll just read this thread from now on!
I don't like re-posts that much either! And now I'm doing it myself! Too tired I guess...

(note to myself; don't post anything in this thread anymore before reading every single post that has been placed during my absence!) ;)
