Your quite the "moderator"....you even decided to move posts where I stated facts, answered questions, or asked them. It's funny too, I'm not the only member who as an issue with your moderation style....Karma is a bi*ch. This is a MESSAGE BOARD, some of you are way to uptight about what is said and done on here.... But as I also said before....sorry to those that I might have offended. It wasn't my intention....
Blu, Mark is the most moderate of the moderators. Trust me. Everyone here has and opinion, and opinions are like @ssholes...everyone has one. Several of us like the car, a few have deposits down. Some think it looks like a Buick. Let'em. Just keep pix and info coming, and chill a little. Much worse could have happened. Just a little advice from someone who pokes at the limits a lot. Enjoy this and the nice lady next to it Image Unavailable, Please Login
I posted them on another thread but this thread should have these pics too. Car spotted at Maranello. Fics found on exoticsonroad.com Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
their first "official" photos of the last few cars (430, 612, and now 599) all seem to have that weird "not real" look about them, as if they were photoshops or rendered images of the car, not the real car. always too much shadow. i didn't like the 599 when the official photos came out, but the recent new pics on the road (and at the show) look much better. somehow the edges are a bit softer or something and the front (which is what i have the most issue with) seems to flow better. i'm sure the experience will be different in person as well. there was an article/review in one of the british car rags recently that said that sometimes, the way a car looks is influenced by the way a car is (paraphrased), and if all that we read about that car is true, this could eventually be a real classic.
They seem to be the actual car, with some (lots) of retouching done to them. If you ask me, they are a poor represention of modern F-cars....a nice regular photograph would work much better IMO.
I think the 599GTB although not drop dead gorgeous is indeed quite a beautiful car, and it is definately the best looking car in the current Ferrari range. My only major complaint is that when looked from the side, the distance between the side window and the back of the car seems a bit too much. If the side windows stretches a bit more (i.e. make the window behind the doors bigger and longer) to the back or the trunk made a bit shorter i think the look will be even better proportioned.
As far as I know, end of April for launch of the car ,somewhere in Italy. No full performance test, just a daily drive and impressions.
Thank you for the info! Shame its going to take such a long time for a full road test! I guess we won't be hearing it either in quite some time...
From the 360 forward, Ferrari's design's have not been photogenic like past models. Why? Because the designs are much more 3-dimensional than previous designs which were essentially two-dimensional. Thus, the 360, the Enzo, the 612, and now the 599 must all be seen in real light and life for the full arrangement and symmetry of the lines to be clearly understood. At the very least these "modern" designs must be viewed from a distance, preferably in outside light to be appreciated. You'll see..... Forza, Cavallini
This fits the 612 to a tea....I did not like it at all in pics....BUT once I saw one in person I changed my mind 100%. I actually like it alot now.
I've seen the 612 in real life myself, but i still don't think the styling really works for me. Just looks a bit awkward and ungainly, bit droopy from some angel too
I just read the new Evo article last night. Its a great read for those who haven't seen it. It really got me excited for the full reviews next month. - Chris
Unfortunately I don't have a scanner to share the entire EVO article, but figured I could share some of the photos at least. I still haven't warmed up to the look of the 612 Scag, but I am coming around on the 599 GTB pretty quickly after being unsure of it from the first few shots. It's mostly the rear I am still unsure of, but maybe I will like it when I see one up close. >8^) ER Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It will go down as one of the all-time greats. I saw this article and developed an even greater appreciation for it because the magazine shots give more depth than screenshots. It breaks new ground for Ferrari in many ways, like the Enzo and F40, technologically and in design. Forza, Cavallini
So let's see. Since having his pointless posts moved by the moderator, in the last 20 or so in this thread we have 6 more from the incisive BluCamSS (some 30% of such posts up from 18% of all posts earlier) with essential and significant contibutions such as: "Awesome pics, thanks." "This fits the 612 to a tea" "I think a full road test is at least two months away, which sucks...." "That second pic is awesome. Car looks mean." Thanks, BluCamSS. Where would we be without your sagacious and insightful remarks occupying 30% of things? With one person contributing so much it is good to know what we have to look forward to each time we visit.
Agreed, whilst there may have been some genuine concerns previously, all I see is a passionate enthusiast expressing himself.
