The "T" indicates that the car was built for the Middle Eastern market. ("B" refers to a European Market car.) Thanks for the "Hoo Ra" -- that's how I feel right now! --Jeremy
Man, eBay is chock full of cheap 308s and Mondials right now. I guess the economy just made 308 values plummet back to 2003 again!! I have not seen as large a drop in asking prices in 348s yet. But I'm eyeing them. Anyone want a deal on a blue Mondial QV when I find the right 348? Birdman

"Birdman 'sleeps' (not 'swims') with the fishes," will be your new signature block by selling the wife's Mondi. Unless of course you are going to give HER the 348

I told her it could be HER 348. What do I care, she never drives the Mondial....she would never drive the 348 either! Honestly, I really do need to build another garage because she isn't going to let me sell the Mondial, I will never sell the 308, and that leaves me one garage space short of a 348. This is heresy, but I'm hoping fcar prices stay down for a while so I can work this angle! (Man, I'm going to end up like Judge, with three of the damn things). Birdman
The "Her 348" idea wouldn't work, man. It was doomed from the get-go. Look at it this way. Yep, the Mondi IS A Ferrari, BUT it is more of a "woman's Ferrari." Not as agressive, more "refined;" lady-like. Whether she drives it or not is NOT the (her) point. She CAN use it, if she so chooses (her point). It has actual room for kids, groceries, clothing and shoe boxes, you know, "Shoppings," aka: "girl stuff." The Mondi can be a "Guys" car IF you have the family in it or have it full of young things (Very Late Teen and 20's-Somethings. Then, OH YEAH!!!! GIVE ME MONDI !!!!!!!! The 348 on the other hand ........ well ..... forget it. Plain aggressive. Not generally a "chick's ride." It cannot haul "Girl Stuff" (BIG Negative). She couldn't even get a SMALL package item from Victoria's Secret in there unless SHE was wearing it home. So .... Looks like the 348 is going to be YOUR CAR, Bird. Save for and ENJOY!!!!! Hope you find one soon. P.S. I am slowly beginning to look for a GTB4 or a Mondi 8 (since NO ONE LIKES UM --- Cheap) myself.
Mark, I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head there...but let me tell you...can you imagine how many guys would notice if a brunette with long hair pulled up at the supermarket in a 348 TS with the top off? I can just see her getting out the car and about 12 guys coming over to ask her out. Yep, you're right....not a good plan to let her think she can drive a 348. Bad idea! Me on the other hand, stepping out of the 348 will have the effect of....nothing. (Maybe a couple 12 year old boys will come over and ask about it). Completely safe! Gotta build that garage in the spring. Birdman
Here's a guy looking for what seems to me a LOT of money for a 308 GT4. Seems to make some pretty incredible claims about the car in the ad too. http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/cto/926575869.html
Check ebay for red (rough) mondial, no reserve (bidding starts at $10,000). Last 5 VIN 90649. Anyone know it? Anyone nearby in Florida that can do a driveby? Looks like it needs alot, but if it runs you could drive as restore or get your money out of it by parting out?
1980 308 GTB in Memphis for $19,800. Here's the link: http://memphis.craigslist.org/ctd/970656532.html (I have no knowledge of car, seller, etc.)
Lowest serial number? Since there are 1974's running around. NOT. Even better, 0-60 in 4.2 seconds? LOL, not unless its shot out of a canon. IIRC, upper 6's. I think 355's are around 4.6. What a joke. And then there is the price.
Nice 308 for, what looks like, a steal... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120361003542&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AUS%3A1123&viewitem= ZFFAA02A5A0033229 Image Unavailable, Please Login
From a distance, it looks like an ok car, I didn't see a mention of manuals, tools or receipts/service records, just that it had specific work done
Wade, not for nothing, even if it was $20k with free shipping and a 2 year warranty, someone will find faullt with it. If it has a small rust bubble, it a rust bucket or parts cars, door ding oh my it has been in an accident. some people just have to find something wrong, no matter what. IMO.
I agree that the car seems like a bargain, especially since almost all of the expensive work has been done for a while. It seems like one could buy the car, drive it for five years or so, and sell it for even money (at least). The only hesitation that I see that one could have regarding the car is the AC not being installed... I've read some horror (i.e., expensive) AC stories...
