what about this one; Winning offer 11500 only!! looks like a lot of work for a good DIY but still it IS a carbed gtb Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
not reallly, it sufferded appearently from a broken distribution, while starting. The harm will not be that big I guess. probably some bent valves anyway this price for a 308gtb is low I guess, nomatter which state. It looked pretty complete
I posted this earlier but forgot to title it as a for sale car. http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/cto/1248144231.html It is a '77 Euro GTB single dizzy dry sump. I called and the guy hasn't really done much to it in his 13 years of ownership, just oil changes and hoses as needed. Not even a timing belt. He says he drives it about 2-3k miles each summer. If you like white, this could make a fun car with a needed service.
A '78 for $17,500. May be worth a look. Looks to be a Euro with a single dizzy as well. http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/ctd/1252525827.html
Here's the original Ebay listing for those who missed it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300324022570&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT#ht_607wt_1142
oke guys i have a confession to make, I'm the one that bought the black US '78 gtb with the rotten appearences and the broken engine from ebay last week... What's the story on this car? I'll tell you what i know. It's actually a rather sad story. The PO bought the car back in 1990 and surely loved the hell out of it and took good care. EG in 2000 the engine was completely rebuild by an afficial Ferrari location. Shortly after that the PO went to another side of the country and put his 308 temporarely in stock. Then things went wrong. Due to healt issues he had to stay on his new adress (due to th climate)leaving the 308 unattended until 2006 Then he came to get it only to find out the the guy who was suppose to take care of it put it outside the warehouse and left it there for almost 4 years only under a sheet of plastic...... When the PO came to collect it, it obviously wouldn't start so they found a mechanic who was supposed to do the trick but at attemting to start the engine the distribution slipped or broke and left the engine stalled. They ended up deciding to put it back in shelter again. It stayed there for another three years..... Just recently the PO decided to sell it asis. My story As i already own a 328 and a 308 QV both GTS i looked for some time already to find a GTB, preferebly a carbed one. Why? Because i have plans to builb myself a racingcar. Something like the Michelotto's but as good as possible. Not for real racing but more just for the fun of building ( and searching endlessly for any special part..) such a pretty car All racingcars were GTB's obviously and to save an old neglected carbed 308 make me actually feel great. But please don't be angry with me that eventually it will NOT end up as a concours winner. But i'm sure the car could have ended up much worse! As soon is i have this car at home, according to the transporter this will take up to 6 weeks to get it to Europe, i will start my own thread on this and keep you all informed on the progrees and all adventures that i will come across on my way to it. First part will be about getting the engine sorted out.
Keep us posted. I actually was bidding on this car as well so it will be kind of cool to see what ends up happening with it and finding out all the work it needed along the way. Good luck with it!
almost sorry to hear that. But there are lots out there with you guys on that side of the ocean. In Europe the carbed 308 gtb is absolutely unfindable in this pricerange nowadays. They are simply not there, only the fully restored are (and than very expensive!)
No worries. I was going to do something along the lines that you were looking to do with it, perhaps a little more "street" orientated but far from a concourse job nonetheless.
Well, I started this thread back in 2006 to highlight cheap Ferraris for sale. Never thought I would list my OWN car here.... http://www.birdmanferrari.com/mondial_for_sale.htm D'oh! Birdman
You know what they say, what goes around..... Seriously though, I LOVE your Mondial. If I didn't already have one I would be all over yours. As it is, I have two friends who have been teetering on the brink, really wanting a Ferrari but have not yet taken the plunge. I am the official "find good cars for sale and alert them" friend, so you will have at least two guys from Mississippi getting your car thrown in their face!
Sweet!! Thanks! The Mondial is going into winter hibernation next week, so it will likely be pulled from being for sale until spring because it is not going to be convenient for me to have access to it throughout the winter. (Thanks Jay!!) Birdman
Boy oh boy, here's a sad one I say $9k max as a parts car. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120523913330&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AUS%3A1123#v4-37 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's an interesting one. Lists as an 82, and has a pic of what looks likes like an 82 (2v) engine. Rest of pictures depict a QV though! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200433057770&ih=010&category=157045&_trksid=p4506.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26ps%3D6 1982 Ferrari Mondial Quattro valve What can I say its a Ferrari. This car would make an excellent daily driver it has more room than the GTS but has the same Ferrari drivability and its just a fun usable car, no evidence of collision and its had the belts and water pump changed not more than 1000 miles ago. The car has only done 84 thousand kilometers around 50,000 miles from new. I am not selling this Ferrari as concourse it is after all 28 years old, but it still looks great. The car shifts nice, the engine is crisp, in fact the more I drive it the better it gets; they do need to be driven and that's the beauty of a Mondial, it has more head room and more storage space. Think of it as a Ferrari that you can use as a commuter that looks great and handles like only a Ferrari can. it does have some stone chips on the paint work the passenger window is lazy some time it works other times it does not, at the moment I am working on one of the headlight motors and it will be sold working. the interior for the year I feel is better than average it sits on the original tires and they are showing signs of ageing, other than that no major faults, starts grate oil pressure and temp are good no problems there. obviously there is no warranty given or implied, it is after all 28 years old but you are more than welcome to send a inspector or come take a look for your self. thanks for looking and good luck with the auction but please serious bids only, I do Have a shipping company local if needed any questions Email me at [email protected] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Jan-27-10 at 15:44:23 PST, seller added the following information: the Vin # is ZFFLD14B000042887
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/1583680130.html This one is back on craiglist again...seems like a lot of cosmetic works.
This looks interesting? First time I wished I still lived in Los Gatos in a very long time! I would go and take a look at it? Anyone know this car? http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/1584462934.html
