my 911 targa is gone to a new home. if anyone knows of a euro 308 QV, please let me know. Will consider 2v injected or GTB / GT4 carb cars if they are good drivers.
Looks like a good deal. If I'd been in the market, I might own that car now! I have a weakspot for the plain white wrapper type cars. But I'm happier with my red spyder!
I'd take a vetroresina car in any color, that one was well bought. I guess glass cars are not bringing the premium everyone thought they were.
Now it's on Ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220314658275&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fmotors.ebay.com%3A80%2F__%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp284.m39.l1313%26_nkw%3D220314658275%26_sacat%3D%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1
There's an interesting 308 on Orlando's craigslist at: http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/1812171005.html It is a 1981 GTBi for $30K, described as "burgundy" over tan, only 12,600 miles. Interesting color ... from the pics it looks like it could be prugna metallico (not sure). Seller says it has been "a valuable part of my colleciton for 15 years." I'm posting in case there's anyone looking for a GTB in a nice, uncommon color.
How did we not discuss THAT one on the 308 Section???? Not ALL 1976's are 'glass... You didn't like that one Will HUber?? The interior looks great despite the miles....
Stole it, if it was indeed fibreglass...a shame about those door mirrors, but easily fixed....I'd say it was steel..
Nice looking from the pictures, but you have to wonder how big his collection is with a 2 car garage.....
This car has been sitting at a dealer for quite a while, and they just lowered the price (today, I think): http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/ctd/1858676966.html It is a 1981 308 gtsi, 20k mi, for $19,995. I'm sure I saw the price in the low 20's back in June (or May?). No interior pictures in the ad, but it appears to be red on black, with some kind of body kit to widen the rear fenders and flare the rocker panels, euro-style bumpers, etc. However, the ad describes it as a "great project car" that "needs TLC" ... could many any of a number of things, but I'm thinking none of them are good (!). Has anyone looked at this one, or know the car? The little voice in the back of my head keeps screaming "run away", though.
Just for the heck of it, I e-mailed the dealer and they were pretty quick to send me some interior shots. It is all black inside with some visible wear on the seats. Needs some interior cleaning. The dealer says "it runs", but has been sitting in storage for approx 10 years and so it probably needs a "tune up" . Here's a picture of the engine bay. Given all the rust, I'd hate to see what the plugs look like ... wonder what shape the fuel lines are in? Even funnier, the ad says "Look op [sic] on ebay if car was mint going anywhere from 30k to 40k Great Investment!!!!" So the dealer tells me that for the $20K price, I could invest another $10K in the car to "get it perfect" and "you will never lose on the car" LOL! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow. Pretty sad. That car will end up being scrapped unless someone can buy it for like $10K. To get it "right" you'd have to probably spend like $15K or even more to get it acceptable. So, at $20K buy price you'd have a 2-valve injected car with a dodgy history for $35K or more. I suck at math but that doesnt add up.
Check out this one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-308-GTB-1984-FERRARI-308-GTB-QUATTRO-VALVE-LOW-MILES-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem19be2f9028QQitemZ110564970536QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks I can't figure it out. It's got US bumpers, but Euro grill, Euro mirrors, Euro engine cover, and rear fog lamps. What's the deal? Was there some other country besides US that got the huge bumpers?

It's most likely a DOT conversion from the 80's but something doesn't seem right about this. It had a "buy it now" at $24,500 but not sure this is legit or not. Another email address provided, no VIN, & location of the car is "internet."
