Thanks for the great pics of these cheery cars.

Roma with no shields makes me extra happy (nice CF wheel center caps as well)

I like new Aston Martins in general but compared to the Roma they are kind of bland but flashy. The Roma roofline style dates back to the California, although they did borrow a few ideas it seems from Aston and Jaguar and even more so from Mazda's Vision concept cars. They also added Italian style curves over the front and rear wheels and made the headlights prettier than the Mazda concepts. I have to say Ferrari is back on top for style again with this amazing Roma and the even more amazing new Monza's.

If Maserati and Alfa would also catch up that would be great. The MC20 is a good start but it looks to much like a Porsche 918 with a Maserati grill, although still a good looking car.

A few houses in Hinsdale did have cars halfway covered. But the streets were all clear.

Lockdown is a bit of an exaggeration. You just can't get in the door without an appointment due to the pandemic.

I always felt they should use the current approach
Some of the times I visited that happy place there were coffee can exhaust econocars in the parking lot and the folks coming out of those cars didn’t strike me as being able to make the numbers work

Plus you have to worry about those coffee can exhaust econocars backing into their parking places thus damaging other parked cars :) Seriously, I think Ferrari is trying to market to a larger audience. What was the target a few years ago, 15,000 yearly after the SUV arrives?? Ferrari is no longer as exclusive as it once was. These people might be future exotic car customers and they have to be nurtured. Appointment only snobbery will only send them to the other brands even faster.

I am not talking about folks who went to Northwestern and are potential future buyers
Let’s say these folks may live in the only lakefront city where you can buy all the houses you want for under $100k a piece

The larger audience point I totally agree with, but I believe that is more about moving from an absolute focus on the sub 1 percenters and newly minted money folks to the 1 tp 3 percenters

The Roma is the example I like to use, not a polarizing design to most folks, updated electronics, less focus on the poseur shields and more on the lifestyle

So you can't go and look at all these beautiful cars you dream about,
just because you can't afford them?
That's very condescending and very, very elitist....

One thing I do understand is not wanting everybody to come out and look at the dealership and cars as that might attract unwanted attention, but the very few people I see at LFF still should not cause an issue. The only time I remember that being a problem was during the LFF open house due to social media. People coming in from over 1000 kilometers away and causing large crowds turned out to be not good for the business model, causing all the Nimby neighbors to complain.

Let's just hope they can open up and that Covid 19 will be under control soon. We are very lucky to have so many fine dealers in the area. The more sports car collecting we have the better :) When Fuelfed can have their Ferrari event in September again that will be a true sign the recovery is here.

I find the LFSC folks to be welcoming to all, and their doors were always open

Before they went all Ferrari and all day, every day (with a dollop of Koenigsegg if you ask), you could just walk in any door and wander, maybe someone would say hello but not guaranteed.

Now they use the central entrance, and you pretty much have to announce your intentions (they always tell me to enjoy my look around and to please let them know if I had any questions). They are terrific and I love having their shop so close to my office.

The pandemic led to the appointment approach.

I kind of see their shop as a high end jewelry store/boutique, where you would get buzzed in.

I grew up in a 1500 sf raised ranch with a pink a blue bathroom, and I am not the condescending type.

I just feel that if somebody leaves their x hundred thousand dollar car for service, there should be no risk of it going MIA due to some criminal type having too easy access to the facility (call it a risk mitigation view)
