When will we have a separate section for Icona cars
They did.. But front mounted V12 could still be inspired the Daytona 365, 365 GT etc. then we have the mid rear V12 which could use 512 BB, 512S etc some great DNA to use either front or rear powered.
True that using the Daytona moniker is « strange » in regard to the engine position (front on the 365 Daytona and back on the SP3 Daytona). Eh, should we expect SP4 Dino based on the Purosangue? [emoji56] joke apart, a Pinin inspired SP based on the Purosangue would be a great opportunity! (But that’s a Pininfarina design, not a Ferrari design…).
SP3 Daytona was named after the Daytona - 24 hour race in 1967 where a Ferrari 330 P3/4, 330 P4 and 412P finished 1-2-3
What really rubs my rhubarb is some celebrity who doesn’t own a Ferrari can walk into a dealer and get one. Whereas, a frequent buyer like myself has no chance of getting one.
Your comment rings true. My Ferrari Franchise got deluged by a 10 year client thinking he could buy his way to a SP3. At a time when there still were allocations available, he “bought” 5 cars during one visit. Certainly was surprised the Franchise let him do it. Now, with most “books” sold out for a 2 year minimum, those “extra” cars could have gone to other worthy buyers. This market madness shows no signs of ever ending. Are you seeing similar situations in NZ? Apologize not knowing your distribution of Ferrari’s down there.
NZ doesn’t have the population or the level of celebrity status like most other countries do. I feel this is due to the size and more remote location. So that sort of issues is not seen as much as other country on such high-ticket luxury items. Lower price limited production items it’s a lot more common here. The housing market here has become so over blown that where a normal working-class family could have purchased a home for the family 5 to 10 years ago can no longer afford to buy. as the market has increased 300 – 400%. So those with money and or influences can take what they want. Many are being purchased then rented out at insane rental pricing making the massive housing shortage even worse. Back on topic lol. I have noticed a big jump in the near new Ferrari sales market here. Like 2022 models for sale only 3 to 6 months old, 2021 models around 12 months odd 200- 900km on the clock. F8, SF90s. which suggests to me they are not the normal Ferrari buyers due to the super quick flipping that I have not seen at this level before. I was told that about 99% of these sales are not forced sales either.
Certainly shows the “ugly” side of “loose money” over here. Too much $USD out there with too few resources. Apologize about the Microeconomic’s Lecture. Having personally driven around NZ a few years back, certain road conditions coupled with constant changing weather conditions provide for character building experiences. My problem if driving a gorgeous F8 around South Island would be constant pull overs to visit your renowned wineries. That housing market you quote borders on absurd. Can only hope for your inflation calms down so people can live reasonably. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sadly, due to the GOVT massive overspending on Covid, inflation is though the roof. The wineries hehe yes, many years back when I worked in the software business, we use to be sent all over NZ and Australia and stay at various wineries. Always held up the NZ end, I was always the last to bed and first to rise. NZ is very well known for its 4 seasons in one day as well as its crazy changing road conditions. Makes for some great road trips that’s for sure. Great pics btw. The family and I are actual winding everything up here over the next few years and moving to the UK where we have dual citizenship. My partner and myself just got back from 5 weeks in London. Our apartment was in Kensington. The cost of living there is now so much lower than NZ its crazy. I loved just simply walking around talking to people from all over the world and watching all those gorgeous cars go past. I actual prefer the lifestyle there. NZ has a lot to offer but is now a shadow of its former self. In the future I am sure we will just buy a nice holiday home here in NZ by the beach and come back to visit friends and family. This photo was taken like 20 years ago at the official Ferrari dealership in Auckland. The funny thing here was those with big money and influences in those days, though they could just rock up and try to seat themselves or there kids in MS racer all were very quick told NO lol. I had known the team there for along time. I just simply asked the dealership owner if one of the staff could put my son in the cockpit for a photo. He looked at me smile and said you are the only person out of hundreds to give them and Ferrari the respect to ask permission. I am more than happy for you to put him in and take some photos please just be careful he said and the rest is history and my eldest son now has some amazing childhood memories that on a handful of other have ever had. I wish I could have fitted in the cockpit but sadly Noooo lol Image Unavailable, Please Login

I'll never understand the fetish for exposed carbon fibre. It's the tackiest thing ever. You're paying that much money for a car and want to see it without paint. Weird.
