Somehow sounds fake to me. Like a movie or book where bad guy #1 tells bad guy #2 the evil plan they plotted (and thus bad guy #2 already has to know) so that the viewer/reader gets to know it. Furthermore: No "Dear XY", instead a "Top Secret"? Why is it in English, not Italian? Why does he write "€1,200,000", when in Europe you'd write "1.200.000€" ? "Price is believed to be" sounds like he's writing about a rumour, not as if he's the one to decide on it. Same goes for the date, as the prototype obviously is on the road (-> clearly not the "early development" stage mentioned in the text), the date has to mean 10th of March, which an Italian would write 10/3/08 IIRC.

Perhaps he means 3rd of September which would tie into all these recent spots of prototypes running around

Note that the fonts are different too -- address and signature info are the same, body is different. Could someone have used a real letter to forge this? But isn't that a ridiculous amount of effort to...do what?

Regardless, most of these specs are probably correct. There's plenty of chatter about a Twin Turbo V8, 700hp+ seems safe, carbon chassis - well duh... The real missing news would be the software and diff info -- If he'd share the basics, why wouldn't he mention the innovative technology? The high horsepower numbers are meaningless without that adjustable traction and braking systems to handle it. That would be the interesting info that I'd think he would want to share. IMHO.

Here is the link for the few who speak Italian: http://www.autoblog.it/post/15664/ferrari-fx70-la-nuova-enzo-svelata-da-un-documento-riservato

According to the article, an email of Montezemolo to a Chinese dealership (the article says 'store' but that seems even more unbelievable) informing it on the Enzo replacement (FX70) was leaked. I'm not sure how credible any of this is but anyway...

Basically this is the info contained about the 'FX70':

-Longitudinally mounted V8 TT in allumiminium
    -Euro 5 compliant (obviously)
-CF body mounted on a CF monocoque chassis
-Double clutch gearbox with 7 gears and 50 milliseconds shifts (I thought it would be less with a double clutch gearbox?)
    -794 bhp
    -772 Nm of torque
    -0-100 km/h (+/- 0-60 mph) in 2.7s
    -390 km/h V-max (242mph)
    - +/- 1300kg
    - Price between 1.2 and 1.4 million Euros.

All the better...maybe there's still hope for a V12 then (probably not).

I wouldn't mind seeing those performance figures though. They didn't look too bad, did they? :D

No mention of build quantities or selection criteria. Isn't that what in supposed intended audience would want to know?

    Has to be fake.
    Thanks!
Exactly what I was thinking. The way the date was written is what raised a red flag for me. Among other things.

First a leaked document revealed important details on the future Veyron GT. Now, Ferrari has fallen into the trap: a confidential document revealed details ont he future FX70, Enzo’s successor.

Now, before you start reading forward take a deep breath: that you’re about to read you’ll let you speechless. Engine: aluminum V8, mounted longitudinal position, with double-compressor and approved Euro V; body made out of carbon fiber and a monocoque chassis , a seven speed double clutch gearbox with reported changing time of only 50 milliseconds.

Things get even better: 794 hp and 772 Nm. o to 60 mph sprint in only 2,7 seconds and a top speed of 242 mph. Weight: only 1.300 kilos. Price: 1,200,000 / 1,400,000 euros.

Don’t know about you, but I can’t really wait to see the official images of this beast!

I saw these pictures over a year ago and it still won't be faster than a Veyron with 1300hp which you can order or the new Carrera GT1.
I do prefer the black roof looks menacing.

It’s official: there will be a sportier version of the Veyron, will be called Veyron GT and will output 1350 hp! This will mean the GT will be the most powerful supercar int he world and most probably will also become the fastest one. Sorry Hennessey, you’ll just have to come with something better!

The next Veyron GT will make its official debut next year at the Geneva Auto Show. The engine will deliver 1350 hp and 1380 Nm. The top speed will go up to 264 mph. But the most impressive numbers are on the acceleration: 0 to 100 km/h in just 2,4 seconds (a Formula 1 car is 2,2 seconds), while from 100 km/h to 0 km/h 2,2 seconds.

"Providing the driver with the rapid upshifts of a racecar..."

Really??? Why even post this stuff??? It's obvious that it's fake. Why speculate??? Isn't it more exciting to just wait and see what they'll do?? The only productive, fun speculation on any car was the P4/5 thread...and it was fun because it revealed almost nothing until...um, well, it debuted.
