Hopefully Obama doesn't get elected because that will be another step in the movement of restricting the production of supercars. By the time I can by one (10 years) I may not be able to drive it
Perhaps you can enlighten us as to how exactly his election will "restrict the production of supercars" made in Italy, and the other guys election will not?
Totally agree with you Joe but do feel that Politicians World Wide will change SuperCars as we know and Love them. Cheers!
As for the engine replacment for the F430 just look to the A1GP racecar for insite on what the new engine will be. Information comes from the new Racecar Engineering mag out in stores now the pics are from another site. But in the mag they claim that ferrari will only supply road going engines for the race cars. This engine seems to be the new f430 replacment motor for the new car I'm guessing they will get info on motor threw the racing just like the fxx program and improve the engines. Engine specs are displacment 4500cc , Bosch 9.6 , and of course Direct injection. Out put is 600hp with 406lbs. of pull. rev is 10,000 for the race car. So I'm guessing around detune to 550 for the new car and 350 to 380 of pull for the street engine. As for the next enzo I will stick with Napolis info on that. If anybody knows it would be him as for this info its all on the net or just pick up the RE mag and read it for yourself. Hear are some pics to lust on. I can't wait for this motor to hit the streets plus with pure racing development as for the gear box I don't know and ready don't care unless its stick. unless it weighs 2200lbs.As for Enzo successor which I think a little too much about,I want either 5 liter V12 revving past 13k,or same displacement V12 with twin turbo.Either weigh car has to weigh 2000-2300lbs.My dream would be a Caparo T1 killer. For that set-up NA V12 revvin 13k+ and the car weighing 1500lbs would be best.Dreams come true.
Please read better It says: Out put is 600hp with 406lbs. of pull. rev is 10,000 for the race car. So I'm guessing around detune to 550 for the new car and 350 to 380 of pull for the street engine. So 600 hp for the race car = 550 hp for the 430 replacement And 350-380 pull(!!), so lbs. for the 430 replacement.
You guys think they can get that much torque out of it (350-380) from a 4.5 Liter? If so all the power to them. That 430 Replacement should be one fast car based on this information.
Don't expect anything under 2500 pounds. Don't think that would be possible in this day and age. I'd be happy with anything less then 3000 pounds.
Interesting info. I thought I read that this engine was a development of the 430 GT engine, which of course could mean anything - even a brand new engine. With Napolis' confirmation of 4.5 l, this must be pretty well carved in stone. Interesting to note that the engine is a stressed member - wonder if it will remain so in F142?
Again this is for the replacment f430 motor not the new enzo, I could not even guess what Ferrari will do and really don't care right now but this engine is bad and they did say there was alittle trouble with the motor vibrating but they said they seem to have it under control. There testing it at ferrari on the track and Ferrari is not aloud to race in the a1gp at all they are just providing the motors nor are they building the car which is base off the ferrari f2004 car. Hope this helps ! As for out put remember 600hp at 10,000 is for the racing engine so it has to be detuned for the street to last I'm only guessing about 550 because the 430S is around 510 hp so that is how I got my figures so don't drill me if I'm off . The direct injection motor is completey redesigned inside and the motor that is in the racecar is modified so the street car will have less HP power. Porsche has made more hp from the direct injection and better gas miles to without boring the hell out of the blocks. So this motor from Ferrari should be sweet. The key is that Ferrari said they will only supply Street motors to the A1GP racecars. So this motor will go into a street car which one I DON't know but it will go into a street car.
As for Napolis, He said the 4.5 is the new replacment 430 motor then it is. Lets just call it the new F450 motor. LOL But makes aton of cents to me so I'm sure it will be going into the new replacment of the f430.
