To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the launch of the 275 GTB and GTS, Ferrari is organising an official meeting, the 275 Tour, which will be held in Maranello and in Tuscany from the 15th to the 20th of June. This is the first of a number of exclusive events that will be dedicated to Ferrari’s most important models.

The meeting is open to all 275 models, including the GTB, GTS, GTB4, GTB Competizione and Spider NART.

The 275’s sporting pedigree will be brought out by a number of special stages over the roads where the car was first tested by Ferrari’s drivers, Mike Parkes and John Surtees, and on some of Italy’s most famous hillclimbs where the car was fielded by privateers.

Among the classic races to be rerun will be the old Mugello road circuit (valid for the World Manufacturers’ Championship up until the 1970s), the Coppa Consuma, the Balze di Volterra and the Vergato-Cereglio.

The times stages will be interspersed by stop-overs at some of the finest Tuscan Medicean palaces – normally closed to the public – where the participants will be guests of the local nobility.

Between 1964 and 1968, 1006 275s were built. The 275 remains one of the most valuable collectors’ Ferraris, thanks to both its innate sporting character and its timeless Pininfarina lines. It was Ferrari’s first true modern series production car, ideal for grand touring use and yet able to take to race tracks with little modification.

Among the model’s finest results are class victories three years running at Le Mans, class wins at the Nürburgring and Daytona, as well numerous victories in national events the world over.

Many 275s still see regular racing use in the Shell Historic Ferrari Maserati Challenge, as well as in other competitive historic races.
