For all the haters of the new design hope you guys understand it strictly subjective - for most this new design is much better than the F12b. I sold my '16 F12 in the anticipation of this one and I have no regrets. F12 is a solid car and if that pleases you by all means I respect that but don't bash this new design yet just wait till it's fully out. See it in person first before judging.
If I'm not mistaken, when you order the LED option, only the top and bottom of the steering wheel is in carbon. The center portion retains the metallic plastic look. That looks a bit busy to my eye. An alternative is to order the LEDs but keep the rim of the steering wheel in all leather.
"Bash"? Who is bashing? Why can someone who has sold one car to buy another not allow those who have an opinion to just voice it? Seems very insecure. And by "for most this new design is much better" - you mean based on a survey you did with Reuters? I thought you were arguing "strictly subjective" ... not it's a most? Makes no sense. Contradictory arguments. And we should all wait to see it, but you have "no regrets" and have seen the same photos? Of course in person things are different, but why must all the first impressions be positive. That's nuts brother. Just do you. Anyone would like to drive it, I'm sure, but let's have a discussion on the looks, ok? Sorry to see that on this greater car. Yes, it feels cheaper. The turn switches are also huge and take more effort to use. The mannetino feels flimsy. Plastic backed horse for the plastic grille on the Lusso.
Safe to say that all opinions re the design is highly subjective.... If we all had to wait until seeing it before expressing our opinions, this forum would get rather short (and boring)....[emoji6] For me, I hope the design will grow on me, but I doubt it. I think the great looking ferraris have a strong feminine design streaks. The 812 seems overdone with too much happening lacking the purity of an elegant design. Just my opinion- no bashing.... The F12b was more of a "she" with its curves. The 812 looks more like a "he"'. I like the masculine touch better with the 812 special edition but not for the standard model.
I agree...very modern and the new steering wheel feels solid. The interior on the lusso is beautiful. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's the first properly specced Lusso interior I have seen and confirms what I thought when shown it pre launch and which I suspect will be carried over in the SuperFast, that is Ferrrai are giving us the bare canvas for us to splurge on in extras. But the result will be a very nice place to be. If you don't mind I will also post on the other thread where there is a similar conversation.
The designer has noted in the past that he has never worked for a company before he came to Ferrari that puts such a high value on the the aero requirements of a design...
Looks great in blue! https://www.facebook.com/Shmee150/photos/a.180200915348505.32854.176218959080034/1275538245814761/?type=3&theater
Best looking Corvette yet. Just kidding. Well, at least half kidding. F12 is an icon. This 812 is beautiful as well. Just different enough to preserve the special quality of the F12, and offering a probable performance envelope upon which it can stake it's own identity/niche. Both are lovely.
Great to see some real photos, thank you! However that rear 3/4 angle looks quite strange in Giallo. I think the 812 will be very colour sensitive.....
Some more, I should add that these pics are not my https://scontent-fra3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/16807172_1250136881771076_4416360619624107188_n.jpg?oh=9c84e3ede96604a5ca3ad6591f0c4adf&oe=593F68E0 https://scontent-fra3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/16807108_1250136891771075_326954588121422614_n.jpg?oh=d848654a2cf07329a2065d9ae35c85e6&oe=5933442D https://scontent-fra3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/16649221_1250136941771070_50306700440945098_n.jpg?oh=2faec309719c24a3adf3d4d28e98589c&oe=594AA8B2 https://scontent-fra3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/16649553_1250136951771069_832280850456695087_n.jpg?oh=ef87c47efd79f716ef1058139d91b227&oe=59433C0C
Agree, the 812 needs something "deeper" lile Rosso Rubino, Rosso Burgundy, or Verde Zeltweg, apart from the ordinary, darker shades of Red/Grey/Black/Blue
Thanks! The front head on looks much better than the renders to me. I was worried about the headlights but now i get it. Still not sure about the rear as it looks better at certain angles than others. I assume this is one of the Geneva cars? I hope they do a grey /silver too. The interior also looks much better than the render from what i can see.
