I agree Mario, at some angles i think its OK, but in this photo the rear lip looks so exaggerated by the fact the area below it (where the Cavalino is) slopes inwards at such a steep angle, making the 'spoiler' look odd. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks George & Justin for the real life pictures !! I now realize how different the 812 and the F12 are Not a fan of Giallo on Front V12 Ferraris ... and particulary on the 812 Did someone notice the tdf style wheels ? they must be the alternate choice for the turbine wheels
I can't take the credit Olivier, i just reposted the images. I'm with you Olivier, not a Giallo fan in V12 GT, OK in a V8, well maybe when i was 20 years younger. ;-)
The tdf wheels are a welcome bonus Olivier. Much better, well, they would be if you could see them!? Black holes....etc...Tim???? ))
Thanks for posting rest of the pics, Justin. I'm very happy that 4 tail lights made return. Loved them on Lusso and they suit Superfast too. Can't wait to see 812 in person.
Aahahahah this forum s becoming a sect... I was going to post the same exact comment about the wheels but finally I thought... well it's not necessary ahah I hope they will be offered... maybe this car is a pre-production car and the tdf holes shown on the pictures won't be available
The car certainly has aggressive and sharp lines. Especially the rear. Its difficult to see how everything comes together as the wheels are too dark. What I don't really like is the steering wheel. Maybe it's just in the pictures but it looks more plasticky and cheaper than the older one.
Maybe someone can edit these pictures better so we can get a feel for the entire package when the wheels are more visible
Here is what her namesake looked like, a 500 Superfast Series 2, Ferrari's ultimate luxury GT at the time. 36 built, 25 Series 1 and 11 Series 2 from 1964-1967. The Bugatti Royale of Ferraris. Unique engine built in the Colombo style, but with 108 mm bore centers, 4963 cc. Thank you Ferrari; you shouldn't have already build my spec in advance! Delivery right after Geneve; yes please! Don't worry, I'll drive her home right after the show!
No idea who did this photoshop, but what a difference the livery makes. Lord Vader, your vehicle is ready! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Delighted to see the very positive reaction, so somewhat contentiously.........Well I hate to say this but for me that spec is the worst you could have on this car, black holes and all and consequently does this design no favours at all. Novitec springs to mind which for me to say is almost treasonous. Bear in mind I am in the U.K. and so therefore a little more conservative in taste terms. What I take from this is that there are so many inlets and contrasting details that I don't think you can afford to exaggerate them like you needed to do with the tdf. The tdf is such a wonderfully homogenous design, that personally I think is the best Ferrari have produced since the 275, whereas this simply does not hang together, it is not cohesive. Aero has triumphed over aesthetic. This is a car which is very colour sensitive and Ferrari need to have a one in a dark colour as well as the launch colour on their stand, as with less of a contrast, I think the car could look stunning. I understand now why everyone raved about the matte grey car. I also know that no way do I want an early car as I don't want to spec this from the configurator, I want to see other real schemes before I make my choice. I attach an image from Caeruleus to make the point. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Unfortunate. These cars will rarely, if ever, be driven at the speeds for which the aero is designed. A lot of the beauty gets lost in this endeavor. The 599 becomes more timeless and more beautiful with each iteration. Long live Pininfarina.
Thank you! It looks amazing. Not a fan of giallo in GT's but these real life pictures make the looks like it came from the future. A very nice step forward from F12
Giallo looks good on the 812 Superfast. I need some more detail of the front grill. If it is levitating per say within the opening then it's hard to see that cool detail when everything is blacked out. I wonder what the grill surround would look like in body color and not black... Or perhaps a different color all together. Imagine a Pozzi Blue car with a Giallo Modena grill surround. This could be very cool.
These iPhone pics, with a wide angle view, don't convey the strength of stance the car has in the rear. Standing off front three quarter and looking rearward, there is real presence and volume in the rear, just like the Daytona. The pics seem to flatten the sides out a lot.
