Very interesting. I remember seeing a 612 in Grigio Ingrid and maybe I didn't realize it was called Nuovo. That car had a very strong champagne color. Maybe it was the older Grigio Ingrid? I will of course allow for the variances that can occur with pictures and computer monitors, but the Nuovo Grigio Ingrid Fer 730 we see in the thread- looks like they changed the color quite a bit from that 612 (which I recall was a 2007 model year, but again, memory is fallible). Either way, I like it on the 812. I would still want to see it in person to be sure. I will look at Grigio Abu Dhabi as well. The only thing we know as correct is the picture Marcel posted of Grigio Ingrid.

I think this image does boldly highlight the lines of the 812. I don't think its accurate at all though. It's very contrasty. I like it, others might not. The reason I like it is because this might be how I would see the car in the right lighting- various elements are more apparent than they might be during daylight. But I don't think we can look at this picture as really accurate.

I have been wondering on external carbon too. There is a mix of cars coming out so hopefully we will have more natural daylight photos soon. At the moment my spec has the carbon corners at rear and inside the Jag F type mouth . Thoughts from others ?

I initially thought all carbon outside but now think I will do a "GT" spec with no carbon outside or in.I am going to do LEDs in steering wheel but will request the leather wrap.

Im in a quandary because Im now thinking no carbon outside but some carbon inside like driving zone, dash inserts, led wheel and central bridge area plus it will have the racing seat. Is that too much of a contrast? One of the issues with carbon outside is that Im not sure how it would handle road debris. In the past I wanted to put paint protection film over outside carbon but dealer doesnt recommend it because it can take part of the carbon finish off when removed.

FYI, I have never done CF outside for the mere fact I never see it when I am driving!!. I have done CF on the inside along with leather and alcantara racing seats

That’s a bit strange, On my F12 the paint protection option from Ferrari includes the front spoiler with was carbon on my car, I had it removed without a problem to fit the selfheal type.

Yeah several people I know have not had issues while one did have an issue. Installers Ive used through the dealer won't warranty their work if its over carbon. Great that you didn't have an issue and it increases the sample size of pro carbon for me.

I know it is slightly off topic for this thread but trying to decide on leather colour for 812 spec.Leaning towards Sabbia as more hardwearing than Crema but does any one have any experience of leather protection that works with Crema ?
Every modern Ferrari I see with Crema seats looks dirty.

After I bought my F12 the majority of the car was wrapped with XPEL Ultimate and the carbon fiber front spoiler too. Last July while parking the car inside the garage for some reason the front parking sensors didn't activate and I hit the wall at an angle with the front spoiler and to my dismay cracked it. My detailer took it off the car, removed the protecting film and the surface looked absolutely perfect and shiny and didn't show any signs of the impact. Due to the fact that the spoiler consists of two sections put together the crack couldn't be repaired. Because the spoiler could break a new one had to be ordered and was also protected with XPEL.

I believe removal of paint protectant film always carries a small risk of pulling off the clear coat during removal. I think this would apply to the CF parts as well because they are clear coated. I think it comes down to the installer (or remover in this case). Some people just don't want to be responsible for it. In my area I have seen one of the better shops ask people to sign a disclaimer form when they remove PPF. I also have seen another shop not ask for it. I don't believe anyone can say there is zero risk. But in my experience, the risk is very slight if it is done by someone who is experienced and skilled. They also now make films with matte finish that can protect matte paints. These films can also cover the grey painted areas on a car, such as the lower rockers, front splitter and rear exhaust area on the F12. I had mine wrapped and you cannot tell they are wrapped- its nice to have the extra protection.

To come back on topic, the picture of the 812 driving in the rain looks great!

first production photo - month earlier than scheduled but I am not complaining! If I am lucky and the stars align I might just get it before Christmas but more likely January. I finally went with Nero Daytona with Cuoio interior (similar to my past F12).

Congratulations and thanks for posting! Very jealous, this must be one of, if not the first car in Australia! Nero with Cuoio should look fantastic - look forward to seeing the next 2 pics.

As a fellow Aussie - can I ask which state you are from?
