Love the luggage!
It is.As with all other models (except first icona series monza) every leather luggage, bag etc is made from Schedoni
Fascinating! I did order the luggage with 812 so I will be getting some of this. Honestly there really wasn't a ton of information available from the deal about the luggage options. I would have been way more eager to order the luggage if I had known how awesome they are. Can't wait to get mine.
Schedoni: Exclusive Ferrari Collection Schedoni has been an official supplier of made-to-measure leather suitcases to Ferrari since 1977. Since then, every new Ferrari has had a perfectly designed set of luggage available from the Modenese craftsmen. The origins of the company go back to 1880 when Celso Schedoni opened a small hand-made footwear workshop in Formagine. His son, Giuseppe, took over the business on his father’s death in the 1930s – and promptly sold all the equipment to a shoemaker in Modena, on the condition that he could become an apprentice and learn everything about the leather trade. A few years later Giuseppe became the head of the firm, and after WW2 decided to start his own business in Modena (following the principles of his father) soon employing 140 people and making 90 pairs of shoes a day. In the 1970s Mauro Schedoni (Giuseppe’s son) joined the company and, making the most of what was then a dynamic and evolving market, decided to make the firm’s products more diverse with the addition of luggage, then clothing and accessories. The first contact with Ferrari came in 1976, when Mauro Schedoni’s 308 GTB-owning brother-in-law Franco Folli asked him to make a set of luggage that exactly fitted his ‘red racer’. The result was a Christmas present for Franco that year and a meeting with Ferrari’s Sales Manager who, on seeing the fitted luggage, realized that ‘at last we’ve found the answer to all those people who complain about not being able to fit their luggage in their Ferrari’. It was in 1977 that the very first set of custom-made luggage was made; for the iconic 308 GTB. As a result of that, the Hollywood Ferrari dealer ordered a set of bespoke upholstery for one of the cars, a feat repeated 19 times between 1977 and 1980. Since 1977 each new road car from Maranello has had its ‘own’ Schedoni luggage, and the company his diversified into an exclusive Ferrari diary for the directors at Maranello and VIP clients, as well as small briefcases, folders and portfolios – all with the unmistakable style of Maranello. Schedoni has also been involved in F1 for Ferrari, supplying the leather seat covers for the likes of Arnoux, Tambay, Prost, Mansell and Schumacher in grand prix cars of the ‘80s and ‘90s. Special models like the limited edition F50 also have special Schedoni seating, in the era before carbon-fibre, Kevlar and Nomex. Over 12,000 sets of Ferrari luggage have been produced since that first ‘Christmas Present’ in 1977, as well as 52,000 briefcases and other small pieces of leather goods. Ferrari’s constant introduction of newer and even more desirable models keeps the family busy – with little time for the other passion of its life, the production of Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena. I ordered my 812 w full electric seats (because more comfy).... but I like the look of the racing seats specially w the new styling ... shall I change it to racing seats ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thank you sir! For the seats here's my experience. My first 2 F12's were my daily and long trip cars, so I got the comfort seats which is very very good. I put over 35k miles on both cars, I could drive like 6 hours on comfort seats and come out fresh. However, my last F12 I decided to keep and not drive it often, so I got the race seat because it looks better. The ergonomic of the race seat is not fitting me well, I don't like it much, but its got the look so that's why my last F12 had to have it. Same as the 812. The conclusion is quite simple for me. Look VS ergonomic. Choose the one that you care more.
I have race seats and they are perfect for me on long trips but I am 5'7". If you do get them the race seat lifter is a mandatory IMO.
Thank you Sir for your reply ... I am planning to drive my 812 daily... along w my FF and 488 ... so the comfy drive is so important to me w my back problems... so I guess I will stick to the full electric seats Thanks and keep enjoying your F cars Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am 6” e back problems so I am afraid it will be a problem having racing seats... still I love the way they look Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have lower back issues and these seats work well for me. Also being 6' they might work for you. A friend who has serious medical issues (muscular etc) has the race seats in his F12 and he is 6'4" and finds them perfect. Just some idea's for you
Then I will think about it and might change to racing seats... thanks for the tip Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have the race seats on my F12 and 812. I am 6 feet tall with back issues and they fit perfectly. Very comfortable. My suggestion would to see if your dealer will let you drive a F12 or 488 with the racing seats to see how they feel. Best of luck. The 812 is all around an amazing car. One additional point if you get the racing seats order the seat lifter. Without it you will sit low in the car.
