OK. So which joints are going to be open during this storm? I'm close to the Heights. Onion Creek is said they will be open until about 10pm or so on Fri. Jimmie's Ice House down the street probably the same.

As for food, the Daily Grind on Washington was open till they ran out of everything during Rita. Any suggestions for places to eat? All I have is crackers, peanut butter and 17 yr. old MREs to wait out the storm.

People are buying out all the water and crackers and HEB here in San Antonio. Wife and I walked past numerous folks with packed shopping carts and we waited in for about 25 minutes to buy some garlic bread, lol. My PD is having all of us work this weekend to be on the safe side for the possible wind, traffic/accidents, and anything else thrown our way.

Isn't Houston expecting a good amount of rain from this one?

The local Kroger had stocked up overnight. I had no problem this morning buying water and wine. I'm about 50 miles inland from where this thing is going to hit. My part of town will lose power as it did during Rita. Even though my house flooded during Allison, I'm not worried about that since this storm will punch right through. The wind damage is another thing though.

JCR, what part of town are you in?

In Austin, people are lined up buying water and other supplies, at least one full cart, some of them two! To prepare for Ike, I watered the lawn last night.

A few blocks west of the Heights between 610 and I10. Not far from BigTex.

Quite familiar with that area. Have a few old high school friends who moved over in that area, and the memories of Fitzgeralds and Zeldas.

Did everyone stock up on roach spray?

Not sure if Rudz will be open, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was. Back in my drinking days, i used to love hurricane parties. I used to talk the ownership or management of the venues i sought temporary residence in to do $2 151 hurricanes to aid in the celebration.

I'm in the Heights over on Studewood. Good to know Onion Creek will be open so that I can go grab a quick drink before all hell breaks loose. This should be fun.

Yeah, I think Rudz will be open too. Went to the Boom Boom Room on 25th and Yale last night. They said they would stay open for awhile tonight if they had a crowd. That might be another option.

Damn, if I was at my house on that side of town I'd be there. I could use a frozen mimosa, those things are good and get you ripped!

Over here in Jersey Village at my parents hanging out. Probably go check and see if Specs is open or something. Not sure, but I bet Coaches will be open for a little while.

    Stay safe everyone.

As cheesy as Texas Music gets, after all it was the 80's. Gotta love those various South Padre Island shots.

Btw, this song needs to be redone as a speed metal punk cover.
