This should be renamed the "Rubbing it in thread" Currently all i got is a red '98 GMC Jimmy (same color as a Ferrari I Guess) Give me a little while and I will have a Red/Tan 360 Modena w/ shields and Tubi Exhaust.....that isnt TOO much to ask is it???
I'm going to start with inferior cars such as NSX's and Vipers but my first F-car I want to be a 360 Spider, and eventually a black F50
I guess I belong here - now that I sold the 355 Spider.... and am officially without a prancing horse... But I got this wicked bull thing going on now I wonder when - like old Allen L. If I will start hating F-cars soon... Hmmm... Probably not - cause if my garage was bigger and my wife not as tough and mean - I might have one now... Women... Got to start working on the detached Garage now...
YEAH! That's what I was thinking. I can UNDERSTAND all those parts I see under that hood. just more of them than I'm used to.
I don't own one, don't want to own one. I want a Porsche, a Lamborghini, a Sebring/Nova/VW Kit Car, a Ducati, a McLaren, a BMW E30 M3. I want all sorts of cars. But I don't particularly want a Ferrari. Why haven't I been banned yet?
I've always been facinated by Ferraris and sports cars in general. It all got started when I went to Europe for the first time at the age of 12. I caught the bug. I guess the closest of our vehicles is a 94 SVX. Then comes my antithesis vehicle: 1964 Lincoln Continental 4 door convertible. It handles like a wounded whale with style. My kids love riding in the 64. Someday, after the kids get out of college, I'll get a Ferrari. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I definately belong in this group. I have wanted to get a 308 since I was about 12 years old and I saved my pennies and when the time finally came I wimped out altho' I did fulfill another automotive goal of mine to buy a brand new car which I did, an S2000. I figured I can always buy a used 308 but I wont always be able to buy a new S2000. I still hope to get a 308 but I'm hoping to be able to also hold onto my S2k too. Sometimes I think of selling it and buying a 308 but I'm trying to fight that urge!
Some time during the end of the 2004 year I had a severe craving for a Ferrari. You know how you feel when you have just begun dating someone and your heart sort of feels light in your chest when you see them? That's what begun happening to me when I started looking at them. Can't explain it. I'm on the www.914club.com as I have a '73 Porsche 914 (my first sports car was my old '75 914), www.vwvortex.com for my '95 Jetta (which I'm going to dodge cones with), and a couple air-cooled VW forums and email list for my first true love, the air-cooled VW Type 3 (Squareback, Fastback & Notchback). So naturally I started looking around for a Ferrari internet site/club. This place was the best that covered it all. Initially I wanted a 308, then the Mondial would be good for "the family", but I think now an '88 328 (concave rims) is my first choice followed by a non-ABS Mondial. Either car I get WILL have a removeable top. Gotta let the sun shine in. That's one reason I love my 914 and I installed a rag top in my VW...and the newest family member has a factory sun roof (again, a VW Type 3). I've got a couple books for reading about Ferrari cars and I've been looking at ads and reading the Classic forum, taking it all in. If the start-up business I'm in gets going then I can see me taking out a loan to buy my first Ferrari. Only trouble is, my 914 and motorcycle would have to sit outside for the Ferrari...and seriously, that makes my stomach flip about I love my cars. Aside from just the affordability of an older model, I find I like them because of their period characterness. I'm past the point of "top speed means everything" because it really doesn't unless you track the car. Like they say in the Classic forum, nobody pays much attention to a corvette or NSX when they are at the gas station...but when a Ferrari pulls up expect to be late where ever you are going!
Black/Black 355 Spider. 288 GTO. F40. Enzo. 360 CS. These are the reasons why I get out of bed in the morning- they get closer with each passing day. -Chris
What kind of an elitist statement is that? I understand no one pays attention to Vettes, because there are 20 billion GM makes. No one pays attention to my 911 either ( I didn't buy it to get attention). In LA 911s are more popular than honda civics. However, NSX's get attention all the time. They are one of the best exotics out there. Try going to a gas station with an NSX, and see if you can get to work on time. Last time I was at a gas station in an NSX (in a city where exotics are common), took me 17 minutes to get out, after filling up. That is quite a statement for a car that was out in the early 90s, and hasn't really been redesigned from the ground up, since. People on NSXPRIME would agree with how much attention the NSX gets. I would take a NSX over a 360 any day of the week (then again I would take Ralphs white corolla with 5 speed and over 100k miles over a 360). I see 4-5 360s in Santa Monica every time I am out, and hardly ever see an NSX.
So firmly decisive? Im not sure I would but I do see your point. Personally, its not so much the rarity of the car. I could really care less about how many people have a 360; the NSX is just an American mid engine car, the 360 is a Italian, hand made mid engine beast. NSX or 360? give me the 360!
LOL!! Im not gonna bother editing my post. I meant Japanese mid engine car. My fault...loooong night.
Yes decisive, because I know what I like and what I don't like. You are right, I don't care who has what car, and how common it is. If I cared about exclusivity, I would be driving a real P car, ala 993 TT S. I brought up exclusivity to make a point to the original poster I was commenting, who suggested, wrongly, that NSX at a gas station gets no attention. My point was, how so many people just dismiss a car as not getting attention and what not, without really knowing. These same people dismiss the NSX for "not having soul." Whatever. I like Ferraris just like the next guy, and am passionate enough, to participate in this board. I have my likes (355) and my dislikes (360), but they are based on logical conclusions I came upon myself. Lastly, the NSX is Japanese and not American. It might have not been built in Italy, doesn't mean the car has no character and is not a beast. To call the NSX a mere car, and the 360 is a beast, is utter automotive ignorance imo. Both cars are great. However, my personal preference lies with the NSX.
It wasn't. Just an observation from the Classic forum. If you love the NSX, great, get one and have a blast. I'd take the 360 since we're not inundated with them up here.
Okay, here in Oregon it doesn't. Now you're just putting words in my mouth. I never said that. To many people my VW's have no soul but to me they do. I sure as hell don't get my panties in a wad over it because I know people have different tastes. It is a nice car (the NSX), no arguements from me about that. BTW, a 993 would be a great ride! What about a replica Ferrari? Im currently doing some reasreach on a Lamborghini replicar and its not so bad if you take the time and look around. I have seen the good the bad the ugly before so i do know that some kits are terrible but there are some that are pretty dam good. The only real problem with a replica is the resale value. Hey its not a bad idea it beats a civic with lambo doors.
I always have this dream about me driving a Koenig F50 and it is just like this video I use to have of a Koenig F50 flooring it up a hill. I don;t even like F50s that much (as compared to a F40) but I always have the same ******** dream about one. As of late the dream has also been taking over by C6 Z06's and Random guys with RPK's spraying on to me and I always get hit but I am still able to return fire with my 240. Too much information for you guys but I decided to ramble.
