Does anyone know for certain what the rationale was by the factory in limiting the color choices for the Aperta? Personally, I’m glad they did after seeing some of the ridiculous choices many made on the coupe, but I am surprised they did this nonetheless. Was it to curtail poor choices or was it more a production decision? Also, were interior choices also limited?

I would assume it was based on production as Zanasi who does all of the special paints for Ferrari has been getting slammed as more customers are going with 3 and 4 layer paints.

You may be right, though one would think that LaFerrari Aperta clients would be first inline when it comes to priority paintwork.

    Yes.
There were time constraints and the delay created by cars already going to Zanasi was not acceptable.
The kiss principle ruled the day. ;)

Far less with the Aperta but I’ve seen some (many) awful coupe specs.

I am curious, if you’re the original owner of the car, what reason did Ferrari give you for the limited options?

Ferrari never said but the consensus was that since these were the 70th Anniversary cars there was no tailor made or atelier builds offered. Keep it simple to speed the build process during 2017. The tailor made program was already swamped with their own 70th Anniversary three hundred and fifty car program.

i guess it is a matter of taste. i agree the coupe version have way more messed up specs. but at the same time i really enjoy the variety of specs from the coupe. aperta specs are boring to my eyes.

Exactly right... The idea was to keep it simple and elegant... Less is more :)
