Hello everyone, it's a pleasure to have found this forum - I just registered and this is my first post .. I have a 1979 Merak SS that I have considered selling .. I have owned it since 1987, and it is current being stored in my repair shop ( I now run the family auto repair and restoration shop ) .. Seems like every other day someone comes in to look at it, but I just don't have a good gauge on what it is worth .... I've looked at Hagerty's chart, and keep tabs on eBay ( even though all eBay seems to have are Meraks that look as if they've survived the apocalypse ) What is the best way to gauge the value ?? ... 37,000 miles, beautiful black interior, the red paint has faded but still looks presentable, the A/C was gone when I bought it .. It runs, drives but in all honesty, the love affair is over and I haven't had it registered in about 5 years .. This forum looks great, I am glad I found you guys !
The 1979 Meraks and on up are the kings of the hill, IMHO. These years received lots of upgrades like the transistorized ignition unit for starters. They should be near or already have cleared the $100K mark. Just Sayin! Ciao, George
I only have one photo on this computer as of right now .. I'll get some more uploaded For now, here she is
The original owner of this car was the person who inspired me to by a Maserati https://www.shannons.com.au/auctions/2017-shannons-sydney-summer-classic-auction-rare-number-plates/B61FWRO1BEBTFA5C/
