I borrowed it off a mate,who actually paid $49.95 for it. I just watched it again and i love it. The version i have here has been "digitally re-mastered" So maybe they did bullsh*t a few engine/6 speed gearbox sound effects in there At around 3 minute 40 mark,he goes through area between 2 buildings and they must have added Schumacher's F1 car sound effect through there,cause it sounded like they "added" F1 engine note over the engine noise in the movie?

oh btw, if you want a truly butt-clenching ride to watch, try to find a short film about pikes-peak... it's actually featured (with no sound ) as a bonus for completing Gran Turismo (maybe 2?). i found the original online last year sometime, THAT was nuts.

 

on this page http://www.kiwisport.net/wp/?page_id=413 you can get a copy of rendezvous, climb dance (the pikes peak thing), and getaway in stockholm. along with nordschlief stuff and a senna lap and whatnot. i'm still on dialup so can't verify what werks...

The thing you have to remember with Rendezvous is that this is the middle of Paris and I remember walking those streets when I was there and I tell you that bloke does have some skills. Even if the soundtrack is a bit ambitious.

It won't let me download the Pikes Peak video, I've been searching for it since I saw it the first time. If any one has it somewhere can they let me know.

The film is crap though.

 

Nope, it's all fake. The car doesn't lean under load or dive under brakes or squat under power, it's all filmed really slow, then sped up with effects.

 

Haha, I always thought it looked a bit suspect.

 

I was actually talking about the pikes peak video clip Phil That was cool. Is the getway in stockholm video an F40 doing 320kmh? That is cool also

That pikes peak one is soo old(1990ish), I remember watching it the 1st time on Ch9 Wide World of Sport in the early 90's. I seen it many many times since then.

But I have a newer version of the pikes peak run with a Suzuki or something, makes this Ari Vat run slow hahaha. Ill have to dig it up.

 

Seen it many, many times and I reckon it is great (fake or not). It was filmed in a Mercedes and dubbed later. There is NO WAY a 275 could mount kerbs like "it" does in that clip - trust me!

 

Really?? A Merc? Wow! I watched it again another 3 times today and showed a few mates. They thought it was great also. I love it for some gay reason. Ferrari or not. Fake or not. I think its great

 

If u read up on all the threads in here, the reason ppl assume it was a Merc 450 SEL 6.9L was because the director Claude Lelouch owned one.

But a Danish magazine looked into it afew years ago and based on the reflection off the road in the windows and wat not, it was really a Renault Alpine Berlinetta.

There is suppose to be some french tv doco where he admits it as well....

 

You cant honestly see what kind of car is in the reflection of the road/shop windows. All you see in the windows are the headlights reflecting off them. Round lights?? Either way,its cool.
