From time to time, you can buy the DVD on Ebay. Title : "c'était un rendez-vous" a film by Claude Lelouch A spirit level film. Ref.: 8 83277 00019 1 Other ref.: SLFREND02D
I can't find it, but I saw a re-enactment of the movie with comments from Claude Lelouch and the Mercedes they used. Great flick none the less.
For those who want to watch it over and over, you can get a copy at Amazon too: http://www.amazon.com/Rendezvous-Claude-Lelouch/dp/B000CFL6DS Mike
I read an interview with the filmmaker some years ago where he stated that the car he used was a 240 or 250 Merc and that the speeds never exceeded about 40 mph. At the time it was recieved so well that he didn't want to own up..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claude_Lelouch "Recent claims made by the director himself, however, suggest he drove his own Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9 in the film and dubbed the sound effects of a Ferrari 275GTB."
Maybe someone in the International > Europe > France section has a 275 GTB and can recreate the shot.
WTF.........."This video is not available in your country".........why shouldn't it be!!! Any other link to this video?

THANKS FOR THE "CLIMB DANCE" IT WAS COOL TO WATCH AND I'VE NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE MY LINK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPUpN8JZe2M
Surely every Ferrari enthusiast has seen this incredible 9 minute video, but here's a behind the scenes with the guy who made it. Turns out it was not made with a Ferrari 275, but with a Mercedes 450 SEL 6.9! Here's a link: http://www.themotoringenthusiast.com/rendezvous
I don't see why he would lie but man that is a lot of work to get the soundtrack just right. Doesn't make sense but non the less, great sound and great classic "movie".
I was not aware of this!!! Thnx for reposting I'm really disappointed though. Now I have to explain to a bunch of friends I showed the video to! Also at the beginning he said "le film a ete realise sans aucun trucage" why even write that?
He says in the video that he did it in the Mercedes in order to get a smooth picture (smooth suspension vs Ferrari's stiff suspension) and then he redid the trajectory with the Ferrari to record the sound!
Ever since i first saw this Flim a long time ago, i felt that the sound of the engine rpm along with the estimated gear did not fit speed of the car at a many (most) points during the flim. Also the comical "hollywood style" tyre squeal is an obvious give away that the sound track has been tampered with ! Still a cool flim though..!
