We know you mean well and are new to FChat (if you have been lurking for a few years, you would know better). But really, did you really think that we, the FChat community, wasn't already aware of this film? Please do a word search for "Rendezvouz." You will find out all you would want to know about your YouTube clip. Mods, Rob, I suggest a 'sticky" that all new posters have to read first that lists all of the topics that have been seen many times before: Rendezvouz, 1/3 scale 312 PB, the wooden F50, Hello Kitty TR, etc. It would spare newcomers to FChat the wrath of the repost police. Mark, thanks for your kind thoughts anyway. You will learn much about Ferraris on this site. A sincere welcome! KevFla
for those that don't know. the film maker did not use a ferrari. camera(s) was strapped to a mercedes. true confession of the filmer. ed
No problem. When these come up from time to time, we just merge them wth the official Rendezvous thread. Merged!
My appologies in advance if this has been posted here before, perhaps many many times, but it migth be worth revisiting this great movie of a 275 GTB on the streets of Paris circa 1976 by Claude LeLouch. Enjoy it. Cheers. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWVde1pWl24&feature=fvsr[/ame]
It has been posted here many many many many times Claudio. **Even started a thread myself years ago. ** But thanks again, I enjoy watching it. P.S-Apparently it's not a 275 GTB used in the vid.
it`s always great to watch (and hear) it but sorry for possibly destroying a dream... the car was a Mercedes 450 SEL 6.9 the soundtrack was dubbed with the sound of a Ferrari (probably the director Claude Lelouch`s own 275GTB) anyway, a classic short cut see the kind of "making of" with flash backs and the director himself 30 years later (even if you don`t speak french, you`ll get it) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vROK5prpN6A&feature=related[/ame]
Some years ago I saw an incredblely cool video that was taken inside a Ferrari 275GTB that was being driven at a very rate of speed through the streets of Paris in the early morning with no traffic. Sights and sounds were included and very exciting. I am looking to find a copy on cd-rom of this event. Anyone? steve miller
Looks to be taken down. The car was supposedly a Mercedes vs a Ferrari. Here's the old link. That is all I could find. Quite a video, if I remeber correctly. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100691&highlight=275+mercedes+paris
The piece is called "Rendevous". google is your *friend*. It has been outed as nearly completely fake; no Ferrari was used in the filming or the audio. Many find it difficult to watch.....
everyone please go easy on steve. he is new and may not yet understand the search freature...besides he has a very kewel name and may play a mean guitar!!!! pcb
Its very easily available on Amazon etc. To help your search its actually called "C'etait un rendezvous" ("It was a date" - reflective of what happens in the last scene). Directed by Claude Lelouch. I first had a VHS copy in the late 90's but it is now on DVD, remastered etc. What was once a bit of a hot "underground" movie, hardly known and barely available, now seems to have a plug by Jeremy Clarkson on the cover. Funny, that would put me off now, if I didn't know what was inside.
Google and one can even find the route that was taken, pictures of the Mercedes with the camera attached and other tidbits. Jeff
