25 km in accordance with www.viamichelin.com via motorway. Ciao Eugenio Image Unavailable, Please Login
I find it difficult to make a decision in this matter. I am a bit scared that we will create subgroups during our trip. Both options sound very appealing. What is good advice?

I agree with Ton, seriously I am a bit sorry (a lot sorry) to disrupt the group. Please, do not see this as a lack of respect for all the work Andrea is pouring into this. The fact is that I have not driven my car for 12 months and after these two weeks I will be another 12 months without driving. I believe that we will have a great time either way. Ciao Eugenio
It's up to you guys (and to the girls) to decide. I know how bad traffic is, and I'd quite like to enjoy the sunshine without worrying about my bodywork for a couple of days. The hotel manager is also doing some acrobatic work to get all our cars in the garage (which we have entirely reserved for us AT NO EXTRA FEE - a favour that we should be grateful for) I would not like to upset him by getting cars in and out all the time. After all we are there for only 2 whole days, we can survive without driving... Besides, my plan was to drive in the direction of Eugenio on the last day anyway, since it's on the way to Tuscany. I would avoid the long, straight stretch that is indicated on the maps you published above - we did it last year and it is VERY SLOW, full of TRAFFIC LIGHTS and very boring. The real FUN begins after, where the Aurelia (ancient roman road) starts winding up the hills to the Bracco Pass (from sea level 1100m altitude). Cinquevalvole was with us last year and he knows how bad the first part was - I'd go by motorway to Sestri, then get on the Aurelia and begin the real fun on the way to Tuscany. Anyway you are all free to do what you want. I am only giving suggestions/guidelines. Last year the group split a couple of times (Simon's girlfriend didn't like boats) but we were all happy anyway!
I am happy to go with the flow - just mega happy not to be organising it this year!! Thanks Andrea! I know this is not a simple task! But rewarding.
We will go with the flow too! The effort for the private parking place is much appreciated. I agree that we should not make the owner of the hotel unhappy (for future occasions).
Katy and I are looking forward to the holiday with a 'lemming type' mentality, we are happy to follow whatever in fact we are so laid back about it we shall be horizontal
Time goes fast now! I still have to send Kevan a route description to my house. That must be a priority this week. I also have to buy the Hoegaarden beers for some of you. My car had some recent clutch problems. They replaced the cylinder at the back, but now they have decided to also replace the cylinder at the front (just in case). And that is all happening under warranty. GREAT service! I can't believe that it is all happening in less than one month. It will probably be over before we know it.
Thanks in anticiaption Ton - may be better to send to Marc(Hedge) as he is the one with Sat Nav - us poor 12 cylinder ownwers have to save up for fuel I am off to Le Mans tomorrow - so if anything happens on the thread will reply next week. Cheers Kevan
I ask everyone a favour: could you please PM me your mobile phone numbers? I'm printing a road book for the trip, and I want to include all the contact numbers. Thanks Andrea
No mobile for me yet. After 1 year in Manila my number has been cancelled. as soon as I am back, I will let you know. Ciao Eugenio
I'm sure Casper does...he wants to know when his choclate rabbit is coming. I still haven't cleaned that up
Thanks everyone! I've got all the numbers. Only Cinquevalvole is still "verschollen", but I've got his number from last year anyway! Andrea
I am rather new to the board, but I read and have seeb the fotos of the previous drive. It looks very relaxing and casual; something I would be interested in. Is it strictly Ferrari, or any other italian/european sports car may join? I would be quite interested, but perhaps since I am new I need to be filled in on some of the details, no?.. thank you regards
