The Torch Beared arrived at Maranello coming from Modena around noon at the Via Giardini and Abetone Inferiore where the flame was delivered by Dario Benuzzi (Chief Test Driver of Ferrari GT's) to the front of the historical entrance of the Ferrari plant and then inside the factory, where it was handed over to the official test driver of Scuderia Ferrari, Luca Badoer. He brough the Torch in a red 430 Spider, driven by Armedeo Felisa, Vice Genaral Manager of Ferrari. The Torch proceeded through the Ferrari Galleria, where a short press meeting was held. Next stop was in the town streets, this leg of the journey, unlike the one inside Ferrari, was visible by the general public.

The transit of the Torch through Maranello was part of a run that crossed nine communes and four provinces on January 14th. Today's run also involved Modena, Formigone, Fiorano Modenese, Sassuolo, Casalgrande, Reggio Emilia, Sant Ilario d'Enza and Parma where it arrived in the afternoon.

It left from Rome on 8th december 2005 and is still on it's way to Turin...

Personally I'm not really into the Olympic Games, I've never watched it to be honest.
But the facts that the Torch for Torino 2006 was created by Pininfarina and that it was brought into the Ferrari factory made it intresting for this board I thought...

It isn't the first torch that Pininfarina have designed... is it? Or maybe it's just that same torch I heard/read about a while ago...

I believe it IS the first one But the news about the deal was spread a while ago.
