It is public record as to what happened to a person who lied to and defamed me. Although he's resigned from the Co. where he used to be Chairman I'm sure you can reach him. You may wish to ask him just how tough I can be.

Do you (or Jim) know what happened with the CanAm body that 0844 had? Is it still with the car and present owner? Same questions for 0860? So is the Medlin CanAm the only remaining CanAm bodied 330? Sorry for the off-topic. Ciao, Peter
I think it's OK, Peter. Horsefly keeps talking about Amelia Earhart! ROTFLMAO! It's ok to babble, but you'll have to leave if you start to drool on yourself.......
Hi Don't know about 0844 or 0860's Can Am bodies 0858 is a 350 (Not 330) Can Am and yes it is the last one left.
Wow...I like the 4 ignition coils all lined up! My engine wasn't that clean even when new...they put the oil leaks in at the factory in England. Ken
Sorry - but who made the BIG threats? - not me! Your comments are directed to the wrong person. Nathan
Nathan Defamation remains defamation. Reckless disregard for the truth remains reckless disregard for the truth. Your "Smokescreen" post 454 is an example of both. What happens next is in your control. It won't be indefinitely. Your choice.
EXACTLY some people want to have it both ways 1) This is definitely a P3 chassis because it has P3 engine mounts and Piper put a P3 engine straight in 2) BUT even then Piper didnt know what he had! Piper had ordered a replica P4 chassis, but dropped a P3 engine straight in and still didnt realise that hed been stitched up with an old P3 chassis. Really? Nathan
Apperantly, since Piper claims to this day that he built the chassis per P4-specifications. This is not about wanting it both ways. This is about Piper's comments not adding up to the facts as presented for everyone to see, by it's current owner. Isn't it fact that you've heard firsthand from Piper that he built a P4-chassis? It either is P3 or P4. Piper says it is P4, the pictures show Jim has modified P3. Someone is in the wrong here and I don't understand why I would disgard Jim's visual and factual evidence in favour of what mr Piper says.
Yes, you point out how absurd it is. So either Piper is: 1. Lying he made that frame from P4 specs, realizing it had P3 specs when the motor dropped right in and sold the car as a replica anyway figuring no one would care. 2. Had no idea at the time what a P3 vs. P4 motor was. I doubt #2 is it. If Piper is the pro he's said to be, he'd realize he had a P3 frame. Assuming this to be the case, perhaps he didn't realize it had the value it does? He made a pretty penny on selling it as a P4 replica I'm sure and that was probably enough for him to not realize the implications of what the frame was. Ken
But if I'm not mistaken, the engine didn't slipped right in. Piper had to modify the P4-chassis to accept a P3-engine according to his statement. That would mean Piper flatout refutes the the chassis in Jim's car is a P3-chassis. The visual and factual evidence however shows it actually is a (albeit modified) P3-chassis as is confirmed when comparing the chassis with the P3/412P in Jim's possesion.
See page 22. As Marcel Massini states: In 1977 CERVAN, a David Piper owned company, seemed to think it owned 0846.
Just wondering why they thought that the car was 0846? Did it have some sort of identifying marks on it back in 1977 that disappeared before 2000?
Here are my 2 cents in this never ending pissing contest: In 1977 I visited Franco Sbarro's warehouse in Grandson, Switzerland. There was a P3 or P4 car and David Piper showed me a customs carnet (customs booklet) which stated the chassis number 0846 and the name of the owner at the time was a company called "Cervan Corporation". I assume that this company was owned at the time by David Piper. No, I could not make any photos, neither of the car nor of the customs carnet. Marcel Massini
Okay, simple then. Piper knew he had 0846, didn't care about it and sold it as a P4 replica. Probably thought it was worth more than a P3/4 abortion. End of story! Whew, that was a merry chase huh. Good night all! LOL Ken
Conversly, just as Enzo had done for so many years, Piper called his 0900c frame '0846', because that matched the customs paperwork in hand....... Hmmmmmmm?
Damn; so you're saying he used that # for lots of cars? Oh well, back to square 234,987 I guess. Pretty ironic that he did that and then actually DID have 0846 huh. Ken
But why would Piper have the paperwork for 0846? All hogwash aside, seriously speaking, is there any record of Piper having anything to do with 0846 BEFORE the LeMans fire?
Maybe Mr. Ferrari had it......paper clipped to the P4 blueprints. At that point, it would be unusable for anything else! They no longer had a vehicle in inventory to match it. Oh the irony in that thought is HUGE........I can hear Enzo and Bandini laughing now, at all of us!
