From the Brands Hatch 0854 original paint I'd say that is definetely true. The interesting thing is that the door is P3 and it also at one time was a spyder door...
So the lesson to be learned must be that bodyworks/body parts were swapped from car to car from one race to another!!!??
From this recent 250LM thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=135852338#post135852338 Very interesting. (to me anyway) We have debated whether or not any P3/4 cars were raced at LeMans with fiberglass bodywork. Now someone (Piper?) is saying that there were some 250LM cars with "plastic" (fiberglass) bodywork? WHO made these "plastic" (fiberglass) parts? Where and when were these cars raced? Does this mean that any of the P3/4 cars could have also had plastic (fiberglass) bodywork? Does anybody know any further information?

Either way.... Did you see my "Zen" quote they published in the Automotive section of the NYT, Mr. G.? I laughed at the reference...that should clinch my EC membership nomination??? Lookin' good! Keep on grindin'!!!!!
Did you leave the shields off of 0846? I tried to find them in the various pictures but I didn't see any. They're on the car in the older pictures. What was the reason for leaving them off? Peter
They are but they're in the exact posistion that we placed the rear view mirrors when the car was painted for the Targa in 67 and I like to have the mirrors.(On the day they ran without them) I tried to put the shields in a different spot but they look funky so I left them off. The Targa numbers were painted where they usually go.
Napolis - are you starting to worry about taking the P cars over to Italy for the historic races these days? I've been reading about the Italian government's overreaction to recreations/reproductions - the collector who had two Maseratis crushed recently, plus an article in Octane about 330P4s - all it takes is a magistrate who sides with your foes in the 0846 saga and it would be tears all round. If I recall correctly, the poor bugger with the Masers wasn't even informed of the decision until after the cars had been crushed, to prevent him from appealing.
This isn't a issue with 0846. She recently returned from a second trip to Sicily. Her legal identity as 1967 Ferrari 0846 has been accepted for years. That part of it is long over. The legal doctrine of Estoppel by acquiescence is quite clear about that. Estoppel by acquiescence arises when one person gives a legal warning to another based on some clearly asserted facts or legal principle, and the other does not respond within "a reasonable period of time". By acquiescing, the other person is considered to have lost the legal right to assert the contrary. Ferrari has been quite clear that they scrapped 0846's chassis and didn't sell it to anyone. They've also been quite clear that they feel the remains of 0846's chassis should not have been taken out of the trash and used to rebuild a car. I've also been quite clear that I wasn't the one who took the remains out of the trash but all of this is separate from the legal identity of the car I own that has traveled to Italy on several occasions. As an aside there is no issue with 0854, 002C, or any of the cars I own for that matter. The reason I moved 0854 to a separate thread is to keep 0846 debate to the 0846 debate thread. You asked here and I didn't want to leave your question unanswered so I responded here but a mod should probably move your question and my answer to the proper thread. Best
Jim , Where I can find high res pics of your #0846 ? Any , old and modern , I am especially looking for good shot of your car on the race track , colour one ! Reg Tad
Thanks. BTW, I hope you didn't think I was insinuating anything about the car, just trying to understand this EC madness.

in defense of Europe, this is Italian madness, some foolish things they can still do on their own, but Europe is working hard to tame the Azzurri....
Nice shot of the Siracusa autodrome, Jim - did you manage to go round the old road circuit that runs from beyond the first turn? Paul M
