103 EXT. CHICAGO LOOP. PARKING GARAGE 103

The Ferrari pulls into a large parking garage.

    EXT. GARAGE

Ferris, Sloane and Cameron get out. Cameron's having fits.

    CAMERON
We can't leave the car here!

    FERRIS
    Why not?
    CAMERON
Because we can't! I want it back
    home where it belongs!

    SLOANE
    What could happen to it?

    CAMERON
It could get stolen, wrecked, scratched,
    you name it.

    FERRIS
I'll give the guy a five to watch it.

    CAMERON
    What guy?

    CU. PARKING ATTENDANT

He smiles with relish at the car. 6'6", 240. An IQ that
equals his hourly wage. Shoulder-length hair stuffed into a
    hairnet Gold teeth. Earring. Goatee.

    EXT. PARKING LOT

The Attendant swaggers over to the car. Ferris slips him a
    five.

    FERRIS
    You speak English?

    ATTENDANT
    Since I was three.

    FERRIS
Great. I want to you take extra special
    care of this vehicle, okay?

He pats the Attendant on the arm. He smiles.

    ATTENDANT
    Like it's a beautiful woman.

    FERRIS
    I appreciate it.

The Attendant very gingerly gets into the car. Ferris turns
to Cameron. The Ferrari pulls into the lot very slowly, very
carefully. No squealing tires, no revving engine.

    FERRIS
See what a finski can do to
    a person's attitude? He's going
to treat it like a beautiful
    woman.

    CAMERON
Yeah, sure. Whip it with a stick
    and piss on the hood.

    SLOANE
Oh, please, Cameron. Do you have to
    be so graphic?

    She heads down the street.

    SLOANE
    This is so right!

Ferris nudges Cameron on. They exit the garage and head
after Sloane. A long beat and the Ferrari creeps down the
exit ramp of the garage. It's gone in the entrance and out
the exit. Another attendant jumps in the passenger side.
He's skinny, tall, with a huge knit hat willed with dreads.
He lets out a spirited laugh and the Ferrari peels out of
the lot. It heads down the street away from Sloane, Ferris
    and Cameron.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

After watching this scene, why would anyone dare to hand the keys to their f-car over to a complete stranger?

On the car radio - Bad by Big Audio Dynamite plays.

    Cam: Wrong!
    Ferris: What?

    Cam: Not here.
Cam: We're not leaving the car here.
    Ferris: Why not?
Cam: Cos we're not. I want the car back home where it belongs right now.
Sloane: Cameron, what's going to happen to it? It's in a garage.
Cam: It could get wrecked, stolen, scratched, breathed on wrong, a pigeon could **** on it. Who knows?

Definitely changed the lines. Like the part where Ferris says, "do you speak English?" and the reply is, "what country do you think this is?" That's one of the better lines.

Wasn't the garage attendant's reply that he'd take care of it like it was his own? Damn, I need to rent the DVD this weekend now!

He says something like "Trust me, I'm a professional".

"A professional what" Cameron replies to Ferris.

Most of that was removed and changed to:

    FERRIS
how you doin? You speak English?

    ATTENDANT
what country do you think this is?

    Ferris looks into the camera

    FERRIS
okay, listen, I want you to take extra special care of this vehicle, okay?

    ATTENDANT
    hey, no problem

    FERRIS
    great

    ATTENDANT
trust me...sir (signaling for cameron to get out of the car)

    ATTENDANT
relax, you fellas have nothing to worry about, i'm a professional

    CAMERON
    professional what?

car rolls up the garage ramp

    FERRIS
see what a finski can do to a guys attitude , cameron come on...come on...come on

as soon as they walk out of the garage and down the street the attendant brings the ferrari back out, picks up another attendant, and they take off tires screaming down the road.

    another little piece of information:

the company that made the replica 250gt was sued by Ferrari for using their actual logos on the car, and the lawsuit caused the replica company to go out of business.

More trivia. The house was owned by a friend of mine, Ben Rose. Ben displayed the following cars in that garage: BMW 328, MGTC, Riley Brooklands, HRG, Bugatti Type 35, Alfa 1750, Alfa 8C2300 Monza. He was a great person.

I love that garage with the huge glass front, it's such a perfect way to display everything if you trust your neighbors :)

Wasn't it Modena Designs? Those replicas are still fetching in the neighborhood of $40k.

i'm not sure of the company actually, I know the real thing has gone as high as 2.5 million, so a replica for $40k seems worth it :D

I think I saw a couple of those cars at auction at Christie's (or was it Sotheby's) a few years ago. I remember looking at the catalog and recognizing the garage.

Scary that I've seen the movie so many times that I can tell that the first dialogue posted is way off.

Anyways, I remember seeing that car for sale at an auction in Newport Beach in the summer of 1992, by one of those big car auction companies. Looked really cool!

Ron Tonkin has at least two of these Modena replicas, one in his collection and the other one was for sale. I really thought about buying it. There was very little that wasn't correct on this car. It had a correct style V-12 and all the interior was great looking. Other that the Ford Granada style steering column and e-brake handle between the seats. I thought about changing that stuff and doing a few things here and there and very few people would be able to tell it wasn't real. I passed on it at $60,000. About two months later there was an auction where another Modena replica sold for $85,000 that was just like it........except it had a 302 Ford and an automatic. Maybe I should have bought it. Still the best looking classic Ferrari behind the 250 GTO.

The picture above of the car in the air is horrible. I hope that was a replica. Dukes of Hazzard comes to mind...
