Oh, man....salsa dancing?
Driving a Lambo Diablo Roadster..yellow. Pulled up to a stop light, guess who is right beside me at the light?? My old high school math teacher sitting in an older toyota camery..who hated me, and always said I would amount to nothing but a ditch digger. I haven't really changed much since high school...he looks over "Tom?" I say yes!! So much for ditch digging huh? Flipped him the finger and drove away calmly after the light turned. I will never forget the look on his face...
Jesus, that girl sets a new bar for trash. BTW, just for clarification, how old were you? "first girlfriend" and "spring break" makes me think teenager, but what the hell kind of dealership lets a teenager drive around in a Gallardo Spyder?
My nut exgirlfriend 44yrs old saw me with one of my girlfriends 24yrs old in the Ferrari....Amusing to say the least. My phone blew up shortly thereafter..She really thought she couldnt be replaced. She was soooooooo wrong )
Same thing happen to me a few years ago, I broke up with a girl I was engaged to, odly enough at the same time I closed the doors on a business I had owned for over 12 years. Business was bad, had to shut down, she wanted to go to Hawaii and I could not afford it, she went I stayed, she came back and I told her it was time she moved out. Long story short, 10 years later, am married, kids. One day I roll up to a light and am sitting in my 348 with the top off, and I hear my name shouted out and someone honking I glance over to my right and I see someone I do not recognize (although still hot) and she keeps calling out my name, I roll down my window and she says "it's me, it's me" and I say something like "hey nice to see you bye bye" and rumble off at a nice pitch with the Capristo howling!!! 2 weeks go by and she calls me at my office (guess she googled me) and I say something like, am married 2 kids, life is grand and am good, how about you, she's out of work, was married for a month and that did not pan out for her. Life is good Oh and by the way she was driving a Toyota Corolla, (not that there is nothing wrong with that)...
I havn't signed into the forum for some time, but this thread is priceless! Some very funny stories here!
And the first section you post in is the 348/355 section! GREAT to hear from you again Jimmy!! Hope all has been well brother!
I am fortunate enough to be 19 and drive around in a Blu TDF F355. Last year my girlfriend, who I was dating for about 1 1/2 years, dumped me for another guy, because she said that she needed someone who had a job, earned his own $$ and etc (Basically she wanted expensive restaurants, presents and trips). About 3 weeks ago, during my class anual meeting, we had a picknick at a local park here in Brazil. When I drove in my blue beauty in, I could see her face WTF??? Turns out the guy she dumped me for was a total looser, and now they broke up. She was all about how she missed me, how I had changed and etc.. My reply to her: On the other side, you didnt change a thing! ( Big smile on her face, because she is very good looking) YOU ARE STILL A GOLD DIGGER! That was priceless for me, and after a couple of hours, I drove away with a big smile on my face, and one of her school friends in the passenger seat
Damn straight Pap! I'm from that generation that likes the 348/355 the most! I've been busy with work, I've got a new job and I'm saving like mad! How's work treating you up in Mt Isa mate?
Excellent, good to hear buddy. Im all good, work and life is perfect up here for me thanks. I see a black/tan 348 TS in the ACT for $69K. **wink wink**
Great to hear How's Nicole doing too? I would think the weather would be much nicer up there than this bitter rainy thing we call a Victorian winter! They're becoming more and more affordable arn't they! Not bad pricing at all!
Its amazing how some guys think that woman really care about cars. I am sure she is telling her new boyfriend who is enjoying her company in more ways then one about the occurance of her ex driving a ferrari. I am sure the new boyfriend enjoyed her even more that evening. Just to throw a wrench on this thread. Elementary school was a long time ago. And geting a ferrari is no revenge. Just enjoy the car.
You missed the point. It is not that you now have a Ferrari and that she is jealous that you have one. You are right. Most women care less about cars in general. But it is a symbol of being successful in life. Remember the old saying "The best revenge is living well"? I think most would agree that you would rather see your ex in a Ferrari verses an old worn out Civic. Unless you are driving that old beater as a parts running car, it would be a fair indicator that things were not going that well for you.
So I'm at a club here in town w/ some friends (mind you I'm not really a club guy). One of my buddies and I are chatting up a couple cuties and making good progress. End of the night rolls around and we all head outside to the valet to pick up our respective cars. My daily driver is a '95 Chevy Tahoe - the old two door version - and I love my truck (I call it the green machine). My F-car ('99 355 GTS) is purely for driving...I very rarely take it out to restaurants and NEVER take it out to bars or clubs. To me it's for driving, not showing off (aside from car shows). Well somehow my green machine (which is quite dirty) comes up first and I say something like, "well this is me" - her response was disgusting. Something along the lines of: "THAT'S your car?" You probably needed to see her expression to truly appreciate the situation but my buddy saw and heard her response...he was like "uh oh" because he knows I don't tolerate BS from anyone let alone some gold-digging bimbo. So I quite abruptly back off, smile and say "nice chatting with you" - jump into my truck and leave. My buddy promptly informs her how uncool that was and what a huge mistake she just made...told her how I have a Ferrari and don't like people to know about it or my lifestyle in general. Apparently she was quite taken aback. Funniest part is she joined my gym and I see her from time to time...we both pretend we don't know each other. Fast forward a few months, I see her and what I assume to be her boyfriend checking out cars at a local car show. Of course they spend a fair amount of time looking at the F-car section and see me pulling my car in. The look on her face was priceless as I hung around chatting with the other F-car owners. Long winded story but classic nonetheless.
Women don´t care about cars, except when those cars have a little horse in the front grille, thats when their interest grows up exponentially.
Cheers mate, Nicole is going GREAT thankyou. Weather here is perfect.............as per usual. Prices are rock bottom! Or close too!! I wish I paid $70K for my Ferrari 6 yrs ago.
I like this thread. Esp. since I've been snubbed soooo many times.. I don't have a GF sees my Fcar story (yet), but I have noticed women don't care about the FCar in the same ways that men do.. but they're not blind. One case I parked in Whole foods and was getting groceries one saturday, I was dressed like a Schlub.. shorts, hat, flipflops and a crumpled t-shirt. As I'm getting out I see this young lady in her early twenties and this guy that was kinda tool-like, I thought "what does she see?". I get back to my car as they follow me out to the truck right next to me.. I'm on the passenger side and as she gets in I get the glance.. a definite "interest" from her in the glance. It was subtle, and I wouldn't have gotten it if I wasn't wearing a nice red car. The other time I was driving back from a run on the highway and was at a light. Another cutie was in a car turning left at the light.. with the same "glance" and look of interest held for a couple seconds longer than in passing. It's subtle.. and not blatantly obvious.. but as a symbol of success and status, yoru FCar does get noticed.
I think both men and women notice the F-cars, but typically the men will give you more positive instant feedback. It's kind of like when your wife shows off the 5karat ring and all her girlfriends jump up and down. The husbands will take note of the value of the ring and be more subtly impressed. There are always exceptions
