Yannick's flip was the car not the track :) (really it was a weird time in racing aerodynamics, see also CLK LM, BMW LMP1)

as to the track not being acceptable...IMSA races LMDh cars there, it's FIA grade 2, same as Sebring and Sebring has a notoriously poor surface. I think it would be fine.

Ah the infamous flying CLK...yes very true if IMSA is happy there then all good, let's hope it happens:).

When I tested the last Genuine Maserati Tipo 151 there on a weekday in september 2018 for Octane Magazine LR track management ended up telling us we had to stop as the car was killing their vroom-ometers"! Thankfully I had driven plenty enough by then, gradually and very respectfully (with such a historical icon) getting quicker.
Interestingly the man in charge of controlling the noise levels said that the real decibel issue was the overruns when it made more popping sounds than a Luftwaffe air raid:eek:.

Il monstro di Modena had spoken:D!

    pretty car :)

what were your noise levels? Lime Rock's standard limit is really low, like 85 db, with "loud" days for race weekends which are limited. I think it's 10 days per year. locals might know better

I don't recall; I tested another car right after that on the roads nearby, the 275 Nart spyder #09437 of Sebring and Thomas Crown fame, so it was busy and unforgettable day.

Then we immediately got into the photographer's van and he and his assistant drove us all night almost non stop to Dawsonville Georgia where we had our next assignment the next afternoon! I vaguely remember during the night passing DC half asleep seeing the capitol cupola in the distance...They had too much equipment to travel by air.

I think you may be right about Road Atlanta. I went to The Mitty last year and I think there were a couple sessions early, then a long "Lunch Break" and then more sessions after that.

Lime Rock is even more ridiculous. No racing engines before 8am or after 5:30pm. I think those are the hours. The year I went for the IMSA event there were a lot of storms in the area. None of them really got us but they kept having to red flag for lightning in the area. Because of the restrictions there was very little ability to adjust the schedule. The race ended up finishing early under red flag.
