http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=134755624&postcount=13 OK....now I am slightly nervous....
Man I'd be picking Boris Said's brain so much the guy would likely tape my mouth shut with 200 mph racers tape. What an opportunity you have to get advice from a world class racer. Just don't ask Boris for advice on hair grooming Knock em dead Dave ! Regards, Jon P. Kofod www.flatoutracing.net
Thanks, bro. In fact, I emailed him the other day, and not 10 minutes ago, I received the following response: "dave sorry for the delay. I just returned from mexico.call me any time. cell # xxx-xxx-xxxx see ya, Boris" Dayyum!!!!!!!!!
OK How did you get a ride? Did they need a token Texan? (Hey that kinda rhymes) Have fun and don't scratch up the roof.
Dave, I talked to Ara. He is going to be racing a 330. Does that sound right? About the sponsership stuff, I'm really interested in finding out how this stuff works. I know how to do this for tax purposes, but I know nuthin bout getting folks to fork over some dough. Dale
Yep. So he will be in the same class as I am, and the same car. What team, do you know? How about I drop you an email tomorrow about your 2nd paragraph. I am going to sleep now. Best, Dave PS: Brian, how? Well, a couple guys I know from BMW club racing lost their 3rd partner/driver, and asked me if I'd be interested. I guess they needed someone slow to pick on, and for equal opportunity/EEOC purposes... ;-)
Way cool, I know nothing of the man personally, but have always enjoyed watching him drive. Best of luck.
Very cool Dave! Boris was in the Busch series down in Mexico yesterday. I believe he and Ron Fellows (remember from the IMSA days? ahhh yes) were the only ones that knew road courses among the American drivers out there.
cool! boris was my instructor way back when i went to skip barber. he took us all out in the van to show us the course, and was going around corners on 2 wheels ! his favorite saying was 'a racetrack is a bunch of fun straights tied together with annoying corners'.
LMAO....LMFAO.... Ross, I have heard stories about those guys & the vans... FUnny thing as well: on the BMW club racing web site FAQ's for rookie racers, there is THE funniest sentence I have ever seen related to racing....and it was not meant as a joke: "Grass is a racing surface." No lie.
Wow...I just got off the phone with Boris. He is REALLY a nice guy. Wow. Dale....I just sent you an email.
