Can you imagine if she told you about dinner and you forgot and made other plans. She would be equally pissed off. Wierd.

Sorry to hear about that. Is the family in the area (as in, they're not travelling far to come for dinner)? Seems like reschedulable things should give way to things beyond your control (ie. the race date).

Just be the first to apologize, and the first to claim your position.

Like(gently): "Honey, I'm sorry about this confusion we're having this weekend. But the race is something I've been planning for a long time and it's important to me. We can push back the dinner reservation until next week, and we'll go to [better restaurant]. Is that ok?"

On the other hand, if conflicting appointments for a sports event and a restaurant dinner are the worst of your problems, count your lucky stars!!!

On a different note, for your rave in Ibiza, do you ever get big artists/DJ's like Tiesto, Ian Van Dahl or ATB to play?

Thanks Ryan for your serious reply, in lue of a semi-serious thread. See the dedication here guys...:)

Yeah, its hard to talk my way out of **** like this. She is a "Social Engineer", or a "shrink" as you would call it. I just dont pick up the phone. Thats my answer given the current situation. I just dont want to deal with this right at the moment. F1 is more exciting than her when she is like this. But dont tell her that!

Dude, and this is not my worst problem at the moment. Some of you that know me well will know what im talking about.

I dont know that much about what has gone on in the European Raves, but i have met ATB (Andre Tannenberger) when he was here recently. Excellent guy. VERY VERY Talented musician. He is has been out of the spotlight as of late, just focussing on his studios over in Germany. I think he is on tour? But only doing a Europe tour i think.

Ian Van Dahl, i have not met. But plan to before mid year.

Another guy i keep in loose contact with is Darude. You might recall his work in Sandstorm.... He is one top bloke. And you wouldnt think that he was a rave artisit if you ever met him.

That would be cool to meet those guys, ATB and Van Dahl are probably two of the artists I listen to most right now. ATB has had more remixes done with his guitar riffs more than anyone else I can think of! Unfortunately, the industry seems to be that many of the DJ's get one big hit and then fizzle out (maybe they're producing instead). Nalin & Kane for example. How many remakes of Beachball can you do?...

I've been into trance and eurodance/rave stuff ever since spending a few summers in Germany in high school (Air Force dad). I have a few Darude tracks too. Great synth sounds.

PS: Jerry, I can post pics of his wife if you'd like :D :D :D

Ask at the hotel about the "special" night clubs where they have the hostess that gives you the mostess ;)

Wow. I didn’t realize that you were into this type of stuff.

Andre (ATB) is real down to earth guy. The amount of work that goes into his songs is incredible. He has got a few people that constantly go around the world to places like India and Africa, to take sound samples that he mix’s into his songs. He makes heavy use of the electric guitar, to get his “trademark sound”, which is made by heavily chopping it up on the sound programs.
Groups like Brooklyn Bounce is a good example. A few members had talent in that group, but poor marketing gave them up.

I have spoken with the guy that made the Darude/ATB mix …”Sandstorm in the Summer”. Which I didn’t mind too much.

The real guys in the game like Chicane, Delirium, ATB, IVD do try to focus on management and help bring noobs up. Which is good for the industry.

And Don’t post pics of the wife. I’d wake up with no balls. :D

So, since you don't need those tickets......

How about letting them go for a song to a fellow F-chatter.

My wife's cruising to the Bahamas right now with, of all people, my sister. (They are getting tanned, I am sitting the dog and minding several teen aged boys) But, I have nothing to do this weekend.

I could get there by Thursday, Friday at the latest.

Tell you what, I'll pick up the tab for the family dinner, you toss me the tickets, everyone is happy.

    Well, almost everyone...

It will work out, I'm sure, just exactly the way your wife wants it to.

    Haha
Don’t even joke about taking away my tickets. They are my life for the next 5 days….:D

Why don’t you come down anyways. Have my house. Have my car. Heck, have my wife too. Take the kids too. Take them to the outback and leave them there. Just tell them not to touch the crocs! :D

NO seriously, this stuff has happened enough times for me not to give a ****.

    F1 and marriage don’t mix.
