The poll was unfairly worded and not representative of the feeling here in my opinion.

Why not spin up another one with the question "Do you think Chris should have been given a ban for his avatar?" (one day ban or not). I suspect you'd see a reversal of your result.
Personally, I'd be advocating people check the relevant boxes in their set up to turn avatars off at work if reading at work causes such a problem (or, perhaps, pack in reading at work at all). After all, what's next to be stopped if some anonymous non-subscribers complain?
