I posted this in the 348/355 section, but I don't think alot of you frequent that thread, so I posted it here too. Not trying to spam the board, sorry if it is considered spamming.

I know many are used to reading threads regarding what went wrong with their Ferrari or the " how to fix it. " threads.
    Well,
I always seem to ask myself, nobody ever says how well the drive went, not a glitch in anything about the car. Drove it, drove it some more, got gas, drove it a little more, then had to be home.

I drove it yesterday, had a few hours to kill before the wife came home with the baby. So I drove, freeway and streets, some windy roads. Then back on the freeway, with absolutely NO DESTINATION! Just putting around having a good time. Car runs great, shifts smooth like butter, sounds plain NASTY at high RPM'S ( thanks Daniel@ricambi and X-OST).
How much did I pay for this car again? You gotta be kiddin me, WHAT A STEAL!

    Anyway, back on subject....

Every car, mustang, camaro, older chevy's or whatever car they were in either honked to say hi, or rev'd and wanted to race, whatever. Saw a Lamborghini Jalpa that looked absolutely perfect, sounded great. beep beep

Anyway, had a great day with the car, couldn't be happier with it.

Sorry to endlessly ramble here, but I really feel there aren't enough threads that show the positives of these cars. Too many people only want to hear and learn the negatives, for those of you interested in neg's. sorry, Don't have any for ya

I ask myself this question (car is scheduled for the major next month)....

Q: Why schedule to have the major done on a car that runs so good?
A: I know what it feels like to drive a car that runs great. I can't wait to see how this car runs when it is "PERFECT!"

For the record, www.Eugeniosferrariservice.com is doing the major next
month. Perfection should be expected apprx 3 weeks after I give the car.

Then, and only then I will know what "PERFECT" feels like.

I just don't what I'm gonna do without the car for 3-4 weeks!!!!!

oh ya, forgot I have a wife and daughter

In case you haven't seen the car I am raving about, here it is. (My car, not my house)
For those of you who have seen it too many time.....TOO BAD, Here's one more pic :

You should see the rain thread I started. I too have been enjoying my car, I have just been taking it out and driving it aimlessly, and having the time of my life. And I agree on the servicing attitude, keeping that sense of reliability and the freedom to drive the car without fear. Nice looking car.

I was just talking about this same thing with a friend on Sunday while we were putting a couple hundred miles on my "new to me" 328.

I was saying how all you ever read about on fchat is how horribly wrong things can go, it makes me worry every time I drive the car even though it runs perfectly and I have no rational reason to think it will break (other than it's an 18 year old Italian car...).

Yeah, driving my baby is such a thrill!
So what the sodium valves might fail, so what the whatever might give out, so what I’m racking up the mileage, none of these seem to ever cross my mind when out on the road.
Most of my trips are to nowhere, and always the long way home.
And the smile afterwards lasts a good long time too.
A good fun drive reminds me of the BMW commercial where the guy pulls in the driveway, hops out and checks his pulse, then looks over at his jogger neighbor doing the same thing.
    Yeah!

I'm with you Cristopher. I've had my '89 Mondial t coupe for about 4 months now and have put on over 3,000 miles with nary a glitch. I posted this once before but thought I would add it here too. Drove through city streets, down rural roads, and the last 700 mi or so were driven over the magnificent Colorado mountain backroads on a 3 day driving trip. Took every windy road we could find including Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mtn. National Park (elevation over 12,000ft). Didn't skip a beat. Drove it through a rain storm, which turned to snow and then turned to beautiful blue skies. What trip, what a car!!!!
Drive them as much as you can.
