993 is such a great car. Regret selling mine but was sick of oil leaks. I would still buy a 993 GT2 Clubsport in a heartbeat

I like that comparison. Very apt. Still don't understand it though. The 997 and frankly the 996's were worlds better than the 993's in all ways (save for interior on the early 996's...those SUCKED!)

Today in Palm Beach I saw a beautiful loaded 575, red/beige, with 14000 miles, two sets of wheels, sold for $120,000.

Sure, the GT3 is as you say a great track car, but also fantastic on the street. I drove 5000 miles last summer to California and back no problems, and very comfortable. I compare the GT3 to the 360 which seems reasonable to me, and I was disappointed with the 360 in terms of acceleration, and comfort. Gorgeous car, but not as much fun as a GT3,more expensive and slower. The 550 on the other hand is a very special grand tourer with a very sporting character, great to drive anywhere and the sound, well that's a different story.
So in summary, I love both for different reasons, and hopefully I will keep both.
    Cheers

It is tour de france blue, with dark tan carpets contrasting door colors, and the crema is more like a stone than cream. It is 'understated' if such a thing can be said about a 550. Certainly I don't want to attract Houston's finest particularly after dinner or a car meeting, when the chances are I will be doing more than 35..ish

Car is under repair. The owner is putting in a full wheel assembly for the right front. Although I have seen the damage, I did not take a camera to the inspection. I spoke to the dealer doing the repair and he thinks it could be another 2 weeks. Something about having to order bushings for the wheel assembly. The right front fender was apparently not damaged too badly. It looked bad, but I am told that the real damage was to the wheel assembly.

    Will report later.
