....is that it has the form of the Rosso concept's butt. The lines work great on a rear, but I just can't come to terms with them on the 612's front.

I actually liek the 612 front end. It's the headlights. They should be recessed, like on the Daytona.
I just hate the butt of the 612. It has no shape whatsoever. A shame.

That's funny and true. But the 612 only has problems in frontal only photos. Full length, outside shots look stunning. And from what I've read on F-chat, it's even more stunning in the flesh.

There's not much to like about the 612. Starting with that silly grin in front.

I haven't seen a pleasing design come out of Ferrari since the 360 coupe. otoh, I like the latest AM designs. Their designer knows how to do a cohesive design and, perhaps more importantly, knows when to stop designing.

But aesthetics can be so subjective.... :)

Yeah, as you say, design can be subjective.

In the flesh, the car looks really great, it has a terrific stance
Also, i guess like all V12s, it's color-sensible. I wouldn't want one in red (same applies for a 456, and IMHO for a Maranello)

At least the 612 looks diff from the rest of the Ferrari line up , which cant be said for the AM range.

I love the 612 , and its really a car that needs to be seen in person and in the streets to appreciate how beautiful and classy it is .
A black on red or a Ingrid on sabbia would be perfect.

The 612 is a car you would bring to a dinner ball to look classy arriving in, and to leave a trail of rubber on the pavement leaving.

Both the Rossa and the 612 are designed by the same person, Ken Okuyama.

The 612 is not photogenic. In person is a different story. So many F-chatter's have changed their opinion's after seeing it in the flesh.I have not met anyone who has'nt been taken back by the look's of my car. Many of my friend's have voted this 612 the best Ferrari of all.

I think the current F lineup is a disgrace. Sharp angular lines that look disjointed. You can definatley see the Japanese influence.
gone are the days when Leonardo Fioravanti was producing the much loved Boxer, daytona, dino, and even 308 for Pinin.

When I first saw the 456 in pictures it looked gorgeous. The 612 pics didn't bring about the same reaction. Having seen both in the flesh I still prefer the 456, but the the difference is less. I'm guessing that you don't buy these cars for the looks, but rather for the depth of ability in so many different areas?...In which case, the 612 has the 456 beat.

I've seen a bunch of them in person and I still think it looks like butt. The 400/412 was a classier, more distinctive looking car, IMHO.

Personnaly i have not seen a 612 in person. I have only seen a 456 once. there are very few Ferraris in my city. Damn "Winterpeg".
But anyway, back to the point.
The first time i saw a pic a the 612 i thought it was stunning. It's one of the more beautiful cars ever, imho. I would love to have one. its looks much nicer than the 456. i always found that car bland, especially for a Ferrari. But given the current prices, it may just end up being the first Ferrari i ever buy. That will be an several years but, I'm sure they will drop further. If they hit the 50k-60k canadian mark i figure that by the time i'm 25-27 (4 - 6 years) i should be in a position to get one.
But ultimately, a 612 would be my dream car.
Hat's off to anyone that owns one!

    Kerbie
