The renderings make the rear door looks tiny and awkwardly shaped. Seems to me it will be as easy for passengers to get into the back seat of this new "SUV" as....ummmm.....errrrr....moving the front seats forward in the Lusso. Half the door is the wheel arch. Is that rear door built for human use or is it just easy access to throw stuff in the back seat?
Don’t forget that the rear doors will most likely be suicide doors. The rendering of the rear door handle is incorrect as the spyshots of the mules clearly show a catch to unlatch the door from the front.
Although there is a lot of information that we still don't have about the Purosangue, for now what we know is that it will be launched with a V12 engine probably with more than 800 hp, making it more powerful than the Lusso V12. The mules show that the length and width of the Purosangue will not be very different from those of the Lusso. The biggest difference will be the height although "spies have hinted the body shell is similar in stature to a raised estate car" so it is expected that the Purosangue will come equipped with an adjustable suspension that will allow to vary the height of the car by about 8 to 10 cm . As Ferrari has promised that the Purosangue will be a true sports car, it is more than certain that it will be equipped with the latest technology to counter body roll. For all this, it seems to me that the Purosangue will be a kind of more versatile Lusso with more interior space without compromising the performance on the road.
If Ferrari marketing says so, then it's true... A bit like the ridiculous slogan "fun to drive"... More seriously, the weight will be much higher than the Maserati Levante ( 2180 kg ), so this thing that only exists in the end to satisfy a fashion effect, to call it a sports car...
There's a "real" sports car that just came out, it's the 992 GT3 RS, and that's not marketing!!! It is therefore possible ... But Ferrari prefers the twisted path of the 296 grand tourer
You're absolutely correct, this will be whatever marketing wants it to be. Expect the most unbelievable truths...
UK Price seems to be heading towards £330k plus options. That means probably around GBP 400k all in. That's a lot considering that the Cullinan is at GBP 275k list price plus options... Does anyone else feel they are shooting too high with the price?
More expensive, less chances to see one, I think the price is right. Actually I´d like it to be more expensive.
I think the price should reflect the content not just be a way to make it more or less rare. I care about the content I buy , when I want to drive I rare car I would not look at the purosangue for that. I think the price makes no sense vs the Lusso.
Well, I think that those who buy a Ferrari SUV are looking for the rarity and exclusivity, because a Ferrari SUV is not something that makes much sense. I also think that Ferrari themselves are looking at it that way, hence the V12 instead of a turbo hybrid that would be more reasonable. So an obscenous price would fit. Even if they sell very few it would be a good business because the big 2+2 GTs didn´t sell well anyway so at least it would get a better margin for unit sold.
In 2012 an FF could be purchased for $356,119. Inflation adjusted 10 years later is $453,374. So basically the Purosangue price hasn't gone up much vs the FF from 10 years ago. The new price is mostly inflation adjusted. So if anyone is thinking $450-500k is way too much, it's actually right inline with inflation. The Purosangue is basically an FF but taller with tiny rear doors and updated interior. Consequently, inflation makes the FF insane value for the money selling at 50% of the original price. The V 12 is the number 1 marketing argument not only to swallow the weed, but also to sell it as expensive as possible
A “Lusso” with more space, better rear seat access as well as more ground clearance due to latest suspension technology is all I (and most of Ferraristis with other SUVs in use) would ask for. If the final design will be “Ferrari”, this car will be one of the biggest successes over the last decades. We will see soon around Pisa ..
We know perfectly well that in the case of the Purosangue the designation true sports car has to be relativized. It seems to me that the expectation is that in terms of road performance the Purosangue will be at least like a Lusso but a true sports car when compared to any of the current Super Suvs.
Any information regarding the gearbox, will it be the old 7 speed DCT from 812? Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
I do… Have a deposit in, on basis it’s £290+ spec, and I’m already struggling to spend £200k upgrading Lusso which I think is brilliant (and I really like the looks) Extra power adds zero extra value to me, Lusso is fast enough, it’s about the rest of the package, and no doubt it will be the ‘greatest thing ever’ at launch, but I have yet to be fully convinced. £400k on something I’m not extremely excited about is not going to happen, but let’s see in a month or so,
I am in the same exact position. I have paid the deposit and I have a Lusso which I really enjoy and find beautiful, so if I have to add £200k over the Lusso for the Purosangue then I am not sure I ‘ll go ahead. Also, history says that the v12s massively drop in price on the secondary market (ff and Lusso for example). Maybe Ferrari managed to break the spell with the Purosangue but I would not take it for granted.
