Yes, very well observed! Also on the leaked photo you can see the aero bridge compared to the F12 Berlinetta.

My dealer had 18 requests but only 4 were accepted by Ferrari and all 4 were Top and VIP customers with many many other Ferrari cars in the garage .

I think the allocation process varies between countries to countries. I think here in the US, Ferrari allocations are hard to come by. Especially considering how well our economy here has been doing in the last 3 years during Covid. I just got back from London and everything is cheap over there compared to the US. A 3 stars Michelin meal that costs around $200 USD per person over there. This is simply unheard of here in the US.

I am In France. I have a friend who purchased only one new car (plus one or two second hand cars) and who was offered to pay a deposit. It is very difficult to understand how it really works.

Nothing better than pretending that not everyone can get one to arouse desire
After the Pista and the 812 gts, I'm surprised it still works.

As long as Ferrari say no to at least one person they hold true that not everyone can buy one. In fact it does make it exclusive. the current 8000 total units that if the cars a hit will end up at 10 - 12 k is still very low production for an SUV. This whole I need to have something only I or a few can have speaks of other inadequacies in their life. Its a no brainer for marketing just use the word "Exclusive" and peoples wallets open in every market. To me the greats exclusive you have is your family.

Make sense. French economy didn't do very well in the last couple of years and many rich people left Paris for Belgium after the high taxation was imposed.

    Simple,
They are managing to let people believe the car is already sold out and miraculously give you an exceptional allocation ..
They are better on this than on Formula One strategical decisions..

London prices for restaurants have gone mad. Not sure where you got a 3 star meal for $200 but last time I went to Helene Darroze at the Connaught, it was about $700 per head with mid-price ($150 per bottle) wine. Even a place like Milos (very nice Greek place at 1 Regent st with no stars) is about $350 per head with decent but not top quality wine. That feels extortionate to a Brit. Less cheap labour around and prices are going up because staff costs and food and energy costs are all increasing quickly.

We Just got back from 5 weeks in London, Our apartment is in Kensington. I could not believe how cheap it was overall. We are currently living in New Zealand and the prices here are 20 - 50% higher in most areas than that of London.

People are paying these prices so the restaurants will push until people stop coming.

The reason London/ UK is cheap (or rather appears cheap) is because the pound is going down the drain Vs all other currencies

Paying a deposit requested by the dealer doesn’t mean anything. Most dealers have deposits collected from 2020 when the car was only rumored. I understand the Ferrari hype and I can see it go the Pista route. However the fact is this car was by invite only and they should have received the email directly.

I don't know what you ate, but we paid $260 at Helene Darroze last week per person, not including our wines and drinks. Once again, a 3 star Michelin restaurants anywhere in the US is going to cost double that. Our meal at Sketch was around 280 per person, not including drinks.

Like I said, London food is cheap compared to the major cities in the US and to be honest, the culinary level across the board is better than what we have here in the States.

For someone who lives in the UK might feel that the prices in London have gone up, but trust me, it is NOTHING like what we are experiencing here in the US across the board. Just look at your used car prices and compare that to the car prices here in the US at the various auctions.

I see your point but it’s not completely true. There are different situations in different markets. I clearly see that this is definitely going the pista route (and I still love my pista spider!)

I have been to Helene Darroze and it is outrageously priced. But from travelling to the US and Asia and can say that with GBP at these levels London is indeed very cheap if you compare likes for likes.

By the way Connaught is a hot spot for these people that scout for watch thieves. I don’t usually go there but the one time I was at their bar, I got followed by 3 guys on bikes (I was with the Lusso) and when I got home they attacked me and got a nautilus I was wearing. Crime in London is out of control but in particular they have some specific places where they spot their prospect victim and in my case it was the Connaught (police saw them following me from mayfair on cctv).
Sorry for the slightly off topic comment, back to the Purosangue now :).

Well. I don’t know anyone with either a Pista or GTS (myself included) who felt cheated or had the value eroded by the dilution in the current market. Or felt that the product was not worthy of the Ferrari brand or ownership .

The thing is the demand side in todays world is excessive. That said in order for Ferrari to be able to keep their SUV from becoming a loss of brand value they have to keep it from becoming ubiquitous.

Their capacity to make cars is limited and their brand valuation and margin depend on that aspect of their brand. Unless they are going to go the Porsche route and double / triple production they won’t make up the loss on valuation.

That said Lamborghini urus have held their value well overall. And surprisingly no one has mentioned the urus performante in this thread.

Either way I’m excited for a new product and look forward to the reveal in Tuscany.

Agreed and that's why I didn't wear any of my watches when I went to London last week. I live in LA, so the situation is just as bad as London unfortunately.
