I simply point out (not saying you) that many people hated the house of Maranello on the FF/Lusso - reminds me a lot of this thread actually.
It's not about ease of handling, it's about "equality". For women, the SUV is the equivalent of "power suits" from the 1980s. And Ferrari delivered exactly that: A 4-door status symbol SUV with a "command position" that can also be used as a "practical family carrier". How many women would choose i.e. a sports wagon/estate/kombi with way better aerodynamics and handling over a performance SUV? Very few.
Uh, it's a meme. It's supposed to be funny not factual. Most here are well aware of Enzo's business tenacity. Lol, he'd put a Cavallino on a lump of **** and happily sell it to any willing suckers with cash in hand if it bankrolled his racing efforts. This isn't the first cash grab by Ferrari and I'm sure it won't be the last.
I think that Iconas Monza SP1 & SP2 sold at 1.8 M -based on the 0.3 M 812SF that has twice the pieces and complexity - are much more cash grabber than this Purosangue at 0.4 M Ciao
I was talking to my friend and he was remarking how the conversations in the Porsche forums are far more mundane then here, I couldn’t agree more! We all share a passion about Ferrari. That is part of the magic!!!
You're in luck!!! Ferrari Design is working on this now as an exclusive option to the Purosangue. It's a limited edition (399 units) carbon fiber/titanium vacuum to clean your carpets of any fallen caviar or body glitter from the mistress. *shields optional The Suxadollari... coming soon!
Should it be a surprise? Lamborghini is selling Urus like hotcakes. As someone that loves Ferrari, I want them to have more money in the bank, (not less.)
You say this as if this new news Image Unavailable, Please Login Did this make me hate the La Ferrari?
YAH because we know so many Ferrari drivers drive their cars to Costco or Carrefour and to pick up a week's worth of groceries. How did they survive all these years?
It tuned for more low end, hence the lower power output unless you go with turbo, then you have that crowd of “purists” that crawl out of the woodwork to whine. (But okay in F40) I digress… why is it 100k too much if the order books are closed? A bean counter will say it’s 100k too low.
Are dealers even taking deposits post-launch? Pretty sure the only allocations went to top tier clients prior to that.
I agree but I do have to wonder if there is a tipping point? At some point a company has to be careful to not put easy profits over their soul. You can't always go for the low hanging fruit when you are a Halo brand. As much as I love Porsche you have to ask yourself if their brand is as "special" today as it was 30 years ago. IMO the answer is no. They are so common place and mundane now nobody gives them a second glance. They litter the Boca mall parking lot like Kia's. They have become the defacto 16th birthday present for entitled rich girls. They are leased and disposed of like a lowly Toyota. Show up to the Toy rally in one, if they let you in, and you are relegated to the back of the line with the Corvettes. They still have a few mind blowing cars but the average person can't distinguish them from the mundane droves of leased mediocrity rolling around with the same hood badge. All that incredible heritage and race history put to the side so they can chase the easy dollar. It breaks my heart to see what happened to Porsche. It would be even worse to see Ferrari fall as well.
I'm not "against" this car. I just think its pointless like the Lambo version is. I'm sure plenty will want to buy it and enjoy it. IMO, it drags down the brand. "Everyone makes an SUV so WE have to!" Ferrari will very soon no longer be "special". I see housewives driving the Lambo SUV getting 8 miles to the gallon in LA Traffic and I wonder "what the heck were you thinking? The Merc, BMW or Porsche weren't good enough for you?" I don't think this car / truck / SUV / Crossover raises the bar anywhere. It doesn't in looks or breakthrough performance or interior design or capability. It is simply the answer to: "What if Ferrari made an SUV"? I may not be against it but I'm not impressed. And when Ferrari makes an all new "something", I expect to be impressed.
Should offer option of 4 or 5 seats. Plenty rich with young families could be turned off by only 4. Porsche does same thing w panamera and I don't know why
