This whole discussion is getting ridiculous. I come here to discuss the cars I like with others who also like them. Not to try and justify why I like them to whomever, there’s enough of that on social media.

We’re discussing a car that some people insist on calling a truck so naturally we have to define a truck (again) and we’ll, there’s the rabbit hole. I’d love to shift (so the speak) to another thread but can’t find cause there’s no place for the PS threads to hang out together.

Anyhow, I still find the car interesting and have placed a deposit. Still not seen in person. Since I have probably 3 years or so before final spec, I’m unsure if I’ll pull the trigger or not. The 812 replacement looks interesting to me as well. In the meantime I have rediscovered the 911 as a DD…

@Chicko makes a simple claim; the PS is a "Truck" - now we can take the colloquial or technical definition.

The laymen's definition of a "Truck" is a vehicle whose primary purpose is to move non-human cargo. A van or bus is more apt for transporting as many people as possible. If we want to get technical, a "Truck" needs to have a carbo bed in the US.

Given that the PS has neither a flatbed nor can it carry more than four people, it is neither a truck either via heuristical methods or technical. I can only assume it will be faster than a 60-person coach, a Toyota Sienna, or even a Ford Raptor.

    ***
Admittedly I'm being pedantic and verbose. I know @Chicko is being hyperbolic and engaging in demagoguery. So why respond even respond? We're all here on a FERRARIchat forum, yeah? I'm in the right place to discuss everything, Ferrari. I occasionally indulge in my inner man-child, especially when school's out. Stay young, as they say. I love the banter and exchange of ideas, even with our younger cohorts.

So I bet you can't talk about this either? What does the FOM has to do with Pikes Peak?

A STOCK Urus hit it in 10 minutes, 32 seconds - put another way, faster than a Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

But let me guess? "It looks like a Truck", so that doesn't count? Or is the Porsche Cayman GT4 a truck too? I'm just trying to understand your thinking process. You seem to place 'pure' uncompromising performance as your north star, I just find it odd you are quick to judge the PS before any objective numbers are out. I never evaluate a car's performance by how it looks, I just look at numbers.

Also, unless I have something way faster than a GT4 Clubsport (and can drive better than professionals), I tend to keep my mouth shut instead of trashing on the Urus being a pig "truck" - just sayen'

Of course I can really rile up the two camps and call the PS a crossover!

    Thanks.

Puro is somewhere in between but closer to Cayenne based on the dimensions that I have seen online.

Cargo space in the Puro seems dismal compared to the Porsche SUVs, but it's greater than any other Ferrari!

Haha. Parallel parking the F-450 is not as much of a chore as one might imagine (assuming you have a Texas-sized parking space!) thanks to the 360 surround view cameras and parking / blind spot sensors, which it looks like the Puro will also have based on the pics in the article below. Very handy teach for a large format vehicle.

Actually you can parallel park an F450 with ease- just push using your bumpers the front and rear cars- a tried and true method in NYC

Yet, here you are. Here's a proposition, you let it go first and I'll follow. Deal?

Reminds me of a guy that shouts "be quiet" in a rock concert. This is a chat forum about Ferrari I think?

Another option is to put me on ignore if my comments are offensive to you.

I'm not ashamed to say I can't afford a Pagani. @jumpinjohn, which model do you own?

Given that every other car manufacturer has created an SUV or sedan (even Mclaren), I can only assume this one model marque is the only car company you patronize. Unless heaven forbid, you're a hypocrite.

Well hi Paul! Do you know why I laughed? I only ask because I don’t understand your comment at all…

All I did was laugh off a couple of PS haters. Am I supposed to engage in a serious debate with someone who suggests that since I don’t hate the PS that I must be a tranny? Really Paul? You expect me to get in that mud over a silly car? Re-read the thread from the beginning slowly and carefully and then call me a hypocrite. DOH.

Oh gee, I must be tired to engage with you over your silly comment. <sigh>

This whole thread is knee deep in mud right now. At this rate we’d have to tow it out, preferably with an SUV. you don’t suppose…?
