I’m surprised at so many green specs. Don’t dislike it - there are some beautiful ones. Is green becoming more popular? I’ve heard for years that green is not desirable except for certain cars in British Racing Green.

Has anyone else noticed more green selected lately?

Was in NY doing a Taylor Made and asked what color selections have been made so far? They said 90% have been selected in the green shades. Did not ask specifically which “green”

Definitely green is the new *_insert fav. color here_*

But I'd say its a trend that has been growing for a good 5-6 years now. And I couldn't be more glad, there are some great greens, for example Verde Pino above is simply outstanding.

In another life I'd love to just do nothing but buy cars, play around with driving and organizing them, and post it all to YouTube.

Maybe if I hit the Powerball

Just try, most YT-ers have started from scratch. Shmee started I believe with maybe some help from his family but then ran a small local business of his own, and went from plain spotting and uploading as a young petrolhead which gradually evolved into what we see now. Pretty much self made.

 

Yeah seems like the latest trend after the purple/violet trend. I’ve been seeing browns and golds gain popularity recently so I’m assuming that’s the next trend.

I enjoy watching his videos but he is very hit or miss on the spec element.
If you are doing shields, have your center caps coordinate, in this case he does regular shields and CF center caps.
Next up, red calipers are played out, if you are going with them, include coordinated elements like some red in the interior or a red stripe on the exterior.
Then there is the guy's Shmee Museum, instead of starting with a nice stout building he used some tin can ex. milking barn and builds it out to look like a Super Mario cartoon character would be walking around.
The guy has incredible access and I saw in one video him being educated by the Bentley customization staff. It seem like he gains little insight from these interactions. The only car he aced was his new Ford GT, likely because he worked directly from a historical racing team color and design palette.

 

Different strokes and all that. I don’t really like his specs but most are ok. The Ford GT looks terrible. I couldn’t imagine going with a spec like that for such a car.

 

I intended to infer that precisely, but I feel he very soon might have stopped using financial backing as his early spotting videos were very successful and I believe were those which started and sustained the growing income.

 

Completely agree with you. I own Ferrari's in a variety of colors, including different reds. Though I opted for Rosso Portofino for the Purosangue order, my recently built 812 GTS was done in green (Verde Zeltweg). I'm not normally fond of greens in general, but to be honest...I wanted to do something with a color I hadn't used before. I will say, they're definitely growing on me (and apparently a lot of other folks as well.) Gold is emerging with beautiful examples being produced by several different exotic car makers. In fact, I'm contemplating this for my SF90 XX, but have figured out some golds tend to look brown in certain lighting and I don't like brown cars.

 

Opening the back doors and taking photos has become fashionable.

Hmm. That’s an interesting trend. Just goes to show that what folks sometimes consider fashionable is just not attractive at all. (Referring to the doors, btw)
