We should be very close to a reveal now, right? January I would guess? While I am not planning to get a FUV (I will get a Roma in about a year) I am still excited to see what the thing will look like, what the engine options are, etc. This car will be a big indicator of what is coming down the line for future Ferrari power plants (Hybrid V6 Roma maybe??) so that alone will be super interesting. Who knows, maybe they achieve the first good looking SUV with this car
I thought it was in March (what would be Geneva Motor Show timing even though its been cancelled), I’m mostly excited to see the interior of the car as I think Ferrari would need to innovate to attract buyers of hyper luxury SUVs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Could they reveal it at the Milano Monza Motor Show in June of 2022? Or am I the only one with the idea of that happening
I wonder if they padded up the back because the earlier shot was too revealing of the roofline. Super interested to see what this turns out like
It feels to me that this is now the final version. I think the first black fabric wrapped ones were not fully in final form. This one feels and looks very different. Ferrari are doing a great job hiding this one
This picture of the last Purosangue mule spotted from another angle shows clearly how the back section cover has been raised and extended when compared with the one seen in the previous mules. It becomes clear that Ferrari is doing everything possible to hide the lines of the Purosangue rear section until the last moment. Image Unavailable, Please Login
For better comparison of the differences the last Purosangue mule side by side with the previous…. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's Ferrari's illusionism on its best…. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The quotation I remember the Ferrari employee said they would use a clever, hidden arrangement. So coach doors but no exterior handle. Just like my SuperCab Raptor.
so you need first open front door and then you can open back door? this solution make car less daily comfortable than Urus
Suicide doors would be horrible for usability but looking at the profile I can see why people think they may be incorporated. Surprisingly not a ton of cargo space in the rear, but I'm assuming it will have custom luggage for sale. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login I think the FUV is just a new Lusso, it does not appear to be 'high riding' at all, why does everyone believe it will be high riding when no mule has yet shown that feature...? for example: the 'shortest' SUVs are about 68 inches(173cm), most are over 72 inches(183cm), the current FUV appears to be quite a bit shorter...
By looking at the previous mules with the Levante body and the first one with the black cover , I also was part of the ones that believed the Purosangue ride heigh would be like the one of a Sedan when set in the lower position. However, by looking at the pictures of the last black mule spotted this week is noticeable that its ride height is higher than the one in all the previous mules. By having put a raised and extended back section on the last black mule Ferrari is trying to hide the real lines of the Purosangue rear side. Perhaps the higher ride height is also part of that strategy of making the mule look very different from what the real car will be.
I hope so because if it is shorter than 62 inches (158cm) it will simply be a car and will likely have the same sales volume as the Lusso and require the same 'incentives' to 'encourage' purchase... For comparison, a MBS580 is 59 inches (150cm) Image Unavailable, Please Login
That sounds awfully far away. We are seeing mules with the covers that indicate the actual body is below it already and allegedly people saw the car already as well. Even the suggested March time feels like a long way off but I think if it was June we would not see anything that advanced yet.
I must say I have been very interested in this vehicle for quite awhile; however, if it indeed is going to be priced at ~$500+K I have lost all interest. What I wanted was a sexy Italian prancing horse that can do daily driving functions and go with family out to restaurants, etc. I am not interested in mega expensive rodeo drive poser. I figured a good price point would have been ~$350-400 with options.
One possibility is that the rear spoiler lip line seen on the first black mule is just an illusion created by Ferrari to confuse the many curious people like myself. However, there is also the possibility that the rear spoiler line visible underneath the cover wrinkles on that first black mule corresponds to the final one of the Purosangue. I’m more inclined towards that second hypothesis and IMO the reason why Ferrari raised and extended the back cover on the second black mule was after they realized the cover was showing too much of the lines. Personally I think the vehicle in the second picture resembles the 1962 Ferrari 250GT SWB Breadvan. It would be impressive if they carried over some design cues from that vehicle and frankly should skip the Purosangue name(lousy name IMHO) and call it the Ferrari Breadvan! Or if you lean French(their nickname for the car)- La Camionette. But as Ferrari is Italian- the Ferrari Camioncino (Little Truck) would be my name of choice. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
