I've asked that very question many a time. Perhaps some Lambo owners don't want to be confused for Ferrari owners? I honestly haven't a clue. The G looks stunning in red btw.

I love yellow ( as my avatar shows) but I think red is a better color on the Gallardo...

The last pic (maybe even the last few) belongs to a member here. Having seen his car in person plenty of times its certainly not a bright red. The pics of some of those reds maybe over saturated? Im not certain. They do have a deep candy apple red I saw over here in the local ferrari/lambo dealer, but I do not think I have ever seen a "ferrari red" on a Gallardo.

The popular and good looking red (to most people) is Rosso Vic; me personally, not a big fan of red on lambos, I think it looks better on cars with smooth lines like Ferrari's but not abrupt and aggressive lines like Lambo's, maybe because it's just not that outrageous of a color compared to orange, green, yellow, etc.

The 1st, 2nd, and 5th photo appears to be the same color and is a non metallic monochrome red. All of the other images are of a metallic red / burgundy color. All of the photos are definatly not all the same color that look different under different lighting conditions.

Here's the names of some common red colors found on the Gallardo:

Rosso Metis - Dark Metallic Red (standard Gallardo color)
Rosso Andromeda - Bright Non-metallic Red (closest to "ferrari red")
Rosso Vik - Candy Apple Red (originally found on Diablos)

I think the reds look good on the Gallardo as it blends in the red taillights nicely.

Just my preference, but I actually like Rosso Leto more than Metis and Vik. Just a beautiful color on the Gallardo. Seems to be a pretty rare color too.

I think Lambo is just trying to further distinguish themselves from Ferrari. Orange is the new red?

I took that first pic, here are some more of that same Gallardo. The colour might be a bit off because the pic was taken with a train track above, so it appears a bit darker.
