Out with the old and in with the new !!!

Its with a slight regret having to change the suspension over, as I do like to keep the car using as many original factory parts as possible, but I just wasn't happy with the ride height and that had to be resolved. The nice thing though is these 'Gaz' coil-over shocks are very similar in colour to the stock Koni's

Something else arrived in the post today, hopefully a tool I won't ever have to use, but with the saga I just went through trying to remove that wheel nut I've bought this new tool that enables me to bash the crap out of it should that wheel nut seizes up again in future.

Funny that you mention that Romano, it was only last night I had exactly that same idea :cool::cool:

Actually the next big job on the list before I will drive the car is getting the brakes sorted and working well, currently they are far from as good as my old Testarossa coupe brakes were, so I know theres room for improvement. Part of which will be doing the s/s flexi brake hoses.

Saw this one up for sale, ex MJ.

I really do love the Testarossa in Black, think its one of the best colours, I remember seeing one on TV years ago and always wanted one in black ever since.

As the panels take up quite a bit of storage space in my limited size garage, Ive decided to look at starting to fit them back onto the car.

However as always, the intended job then leads to 5 others that then get discovered whilst looking into it.

I figured one of the panels is the front of my rear passenger arch thats missing. Started to see how its fitted then noticed the top metal part of the arch was held in place but a single screw, all of the rivets were missing ..... and then I started to clean :D

This area has not seen the light of day for 30 years and it shows, its literally caked in a thick layer of dust !!

Starting to make a list of little bits I need and are no longer available from Ferrari. Any help sourcing these will be much appreciated.

    So far:
1.Little black door lock knobs (want original ideally not aftermarket stainless steel ones). I did buy some from 'Superformance' but the thread was different, the Testarossa has a small thin thread.
    2. 1x Door Pocket .....not exactly sure why the one I have has been 'tested 75-80 degrees' ?

Next are the panels on the right side of this picture. (front of my hood)

Again I have 3 panels labeled up right, left and centre

I think they are panels for the underside of the car, possibly the middle section or rear ?

Scott, Not 100% on all panels, but I will try. post 411 my door pocket says same, wonder myself? post 414 could be under front bonnet to cover up window motors and battery off switch. Post 415 front of rear wheels to cover up rad fans 100%. Post 416 A/C fan drivers side front of wheel well. Post 417 Could be front bonnet, maybe big hole to gain access to headlight motor for manual operation.

when I was young I always used the kitchen at our home when my mom was not there to clean my parts. but one day she came home because she forgot something and have seen me with dirty and oily parts in "her" kitchen. I remember very good the trouble I got then :(
so what is your wife saying?

also not 100 % sure with the panels.
    413: I think not testarossa
414: could be not original those 3 pieces, could be once 1 piece and this was cut into 3, under the fuel tanks. I wonder about the large holes for screws. if rivets those holes would be smaller
415: for sure rear in front of the wheels
416: left side front for AC radiator cooling
417: front where the air hose for the brake cooling come through, but not sure if testarosssa??
418: absolutely don´t know, can you post a picture from the backside please? near battery??

411: my knob has no thread. it is pressed on the linkage. try to find at a junkyard some from other car what looks equal and fix it with silicon, so you could remove it again

Really love the old used look and feel of the Ratarossa's steering wheel. The car hasn't actually done that many miles according to the speedo (around 16k from memory) so suspect most of this wear is ageing from where the car has been sat around exposed to earths elements.

A little more help identifying panels please.....

I think these 3 might be for under the fuel tanks. However when looking at the parts diagram the part is a single part number and looks like a complete single panel.

As you can see from one of the pictures they all fit together and form a similar shape. Also looking under the car it appears they would be the correct size ( car is on jacks at the moment and I cant get right under it to see for sure)

    Anyone know ?
