next question Number 19 P/N 61742600. The expansion valve .... I cannot see it in my car. Where does this sit ? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ok figured this question out the expansion valve is inside the air con assy, was just buried deep within and behind some pipes !! View attachment 2513680
So im slowly working this out pipe by pipe. couldn't figure out where this when then worked out it is not connected to anything, its an outlet and just goes out of a hole located right infront of where the assy sits. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think I have figured out all of the rest EXPECT one pipe connection !!!! No 39 in the diagram (Hose: Evaporator - compressor) Engine end everything is fitted and appears correct. Inside car the pipe is routed in the tunnel and where I thought it should connect onto the pipe (with thread) from the A/C assy (built in) .... the pipe thread is to small to fit the connector ? Looking at parts diagram 39 is p/n 127787 (not for US) I believe US version is 124670 39 pipes from the evaporator to compressor valve (number 9 in the sub diagram) Image Unavailable, Please Login

I did a little more research, couldn't find much on the a/c system for testarossa Ferrparts have a unit for sale with some pictures. Apart from a few broken bits of plastic mine looks like everything is there. Also compared the pipe with thread and it looks (from the picture) to be the same as mine Image Unavailable, Please Login

Dash arrived today, super happy with it. Couple of storage marks but its complete with the radio flap and the glove box and otherwise brand new off the shelf. Absolute bargain the price I paid compared to the list price of £4860.25 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
While I try and figure out the A/C mystery pipe and why it doesn't connect I am working on a few other bits: Had a hunt around in a few of the boxes I have left of parts for the car and discovered the missing piece of front trunk carpet .... yippee. As it turns out strangley I have almost two of everything carpet wise for the trunk, I've used the better bits of the two sets to make the best out of the combination. Also dabbled in a little bit of paint work to see how the trunk will look once its finished in black. Have ordered some black velcro as per factory to keep the carpets in place. Started to transfer the bits between old and new dash. Have taken a small cut of the spare under dash leather and will send that off for a colour match to get some leather dye mixed up and match in the other panels if/when I refurb them. Need some new tweeter speakers as mine are missing, then its ready to go in the car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Still trying to figure out this A/C pipework anomaly. While I try and figure out why the two pipes won't connect and a way around that I am doing a few other jobs. Rebuilding the A/C unit shell, it was cracked a bit and a couple of brackets were broken, so I have manufactured this and riveted them back in place. I also have a broken sensor that I need to solder a joint onto. Removed many years of dust and its now starting to look normal again.
Have a order with Eurospares for another load of missing little items, this is slowing progress as I cannot reinstall parts unit I have fitted the new parts. Yesterday I sent off a small loose patch of the brown leather from the underside of my new dash to 'Furniture Clinic' these guys are brilliant, will colour match it and mix me a 1 litre of dye (plenty to spare), less than a day later its back in the post for me This will enable me to do a few repairs to the other parts of the dash and clean it up a little
Back into the front trunk area as i'm determined to get that finished. Again i'm awaiting the new velcro to arrive for the carpet edges so instead did a bit more spray work. Then something I have been itching to do for a while was the underside of the front hood/bonnet, again a quick bit of paint and then cut some new fresh foam matting for the 3 sections. Next job to pretty much finish it will be to rivet the new underside air scoop in place Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
