It’s been a while since doing the wrinkle paint, I thought I would practice again on a 355 before doing the Testarossa heads

Great weather again here in the UK so taking full advantage and doing a couple of jobs.

Firstly my right headlight was always wrong height. I knew I had two left motors in the car as so just bought a replacement correct right motor. I then spent a couple of hours figuring out why no matter what I tried I could not get it to raise and lower correctly. Turned out to be the arm from the motor to headlight connection, somehow the arm that was fitted to the car was slightly shorter than stock and so I never had full travel up and down .... luckily I had a spare one and once fitted all is now good

Next was whipping our the right side light to fix one (of the two) side lights. This was simply a case of loose connection and quickly rectified

I’d have to check the connections on mine but those headlight motors look to be 1500cc X1/9 headlight motors, although the X units don’t have the thick textured paint covering them. The linkage piece shown appears to be the same as well.

    Correct

I’ve got one 355 headlight motor on the left and a Fiat X1/9 motor now on the right.

    Work perfectly.

The arm was originally with the old faulty motors that came in the crate of parts with this car. Luckily I had an old faulty 355 motor and simply switched the arm over.

In fact they worked so well I carried on and took the car out for a good half hour drive and shake down test.

All temps etc reporting good and no overheating. :D:D:D

Starting to make the upper interior trim piece for small area behind windscreen.

I have cut up the old leather square from the coupe roof as clearly no longer needed. Then cover a fabricated panel to fit into place.

Before fitting it I’m adding a nice thick rubber strip for added protection as I’m bound to whack my head a few times getting in and out of the car. The pitch of the 80s ferrari screens is much sharper than the modern day cars and I’m almost touching to top of the windscreen sat in the drivers seat

How'd you find a new one? And how much was it? I had my booster and master cylinder rebuilt instead of replacing.

Yes I know, but remember I could only get hold of a set of the red carpets with speaker grills and speakers/ crossovers so dying red to tan was near impossible, hence going darker to the brown
