btw. are there cooling issues?
Tony Ierardi, he restored the Cannonball Run car quite recently. (linked below) http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=236140&highlight=cannonball He has a shop or two in Naples under DMC / Delorean Motor Co and Auto Italia. I purchased my 1984 Countach from Tony a little over 6 years ago. Tony is a very honest and sincere guy that I would include amongst the others mentioned in this thread. Sincerely Vic
Tony is actually doing a lot of work on my car right now. I will give you guys a review when it is all done. He is also working on the Cannonball car that was mentioned in the post about Hawaiian Tropic. I can't speak for others but my car doesn't have the stock radiators. It has bigger aluminum ones with a fan in front and a fan in back. The car is black and I can idle in traffic forever and it will never overheat in the Florida summer. Look at the site for Raymonds car to learn about adding fans, but have four instead of two. Charge your A/C up with Dura cool and you will never be hot inside again. The molecules are bigger so they don't leak out of a small of a hole as freon does and it cools much better. It blows Ice in my friends countach that uses it.....you actually have to turn it down because it gets too cold!
by the way, did that North Carolina dealer ever sell that black DD? a few pics from Tonys Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
To those Countach owners (Amelio, PeterK, JFrazar and any others) who do not have time available to drive their cars, I just want to say, I am available I am an excellent driver who is sympathetic to proper clutch use and gear changes. I am a former owner of many Alfa's, Turbo Porsche's, Maserati and Ducati and have track time in Porsche 956 and 962's. My fee's are totally negotiable. Please PM at your convenience Paul
Correct, I owned that car prior to selling it to them, I can say it is one HELL of fast good car!! Kind of wish I had not sold it...ooh well....
Whomever suggests a Countach is a troublesome car as a daily driver has missed the point of the car entirely. They are not daily drivers and were never meant to be.
It sounds silly, I understand. I think I bought the car to early in my life or my timing was bad. My wife was about to have our first (and only) child and I thought man I better make a move now! I started making some phone calls, went and looked at a car, check book came out, transporter on the phone, car showed up at the house 1 week before my son was born. So the whole time I have had the car, I have had a new born in the house, bought a broken Jalpa which I fixed. Took my finance company to the next level. Delt with a financial panic - Had 2 banks flip out on me for no reason. I work 70 hours a week currently and any spare time goes to the wife and kid. I will say this, he does love the cars. You should see the looks we get when a Countach pulls up with a car seat in it. Life is so good! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dear Lamborghinisti, Ohhhhh.....there is something so wrong with that statement. With such an exciting car, I want to enjoy it everyday. Why should I have a great car in the garage while driving around in a piece of crap.....doesn't make any sense. I will say having the Diablo at the drive thru is really great . Just pop up the door and grab your stuff. With the Testarossa, you really have to stretch your arm out as the door window sill is really in the way. Shamile Freeze...Miami Vice !
