I don't consider myself to be a great driver but damn even i realized he was coming into that corner way way too fast

 

Turn 1 at Catalunya (Barcelona).

If you look at the braking markers you can see how he brakes around the 100m board from 240kmph... slightly before where an F1 car brakes for that turn (plus the F1 car is carrying an extra 60kmph).

Unfortunately for him and the journalist, that Jaguar doesn't quite stop as well as an F1 car.

250m would have been reasonable.

 

Why did he early apex the corner? This just ensured that he would be doing the rest of his driving off the tarmac.

That Journalist (writes for EVO Magazine) is quite an excellent driver in his own right and he tested the Jag F1 car himself the next day. He was complaining during breakfast the next day about the joke of a ride that Jungle Boy gave him the day before.

 

I know that we can all make mistakes, but this guy is supposed to be a professional F1 driver! How is it that he made such a rookie mistake? Could it be that he was trying to showoff????

 

I wonder what he said when he got back to the pits.

 

I was speechless when I first saw that. If I were him, I would have a long and serious talk with myself. So sad.

And yes, I do think he was showing off...
