Well there is really nowhere to put this so If the Mods see fit to move it to a different section that is fine. Since we all or at least most of us enjoy a grerat dining experience, this thread is here to express the restaurants/bars that you have been to where you have enjoyed a great meal and would recommend to others to try.

The rules are to post: The restaurant name
The City and State that it is in
A website if they have one
Average price for a dinner for 2

    I'll begin:

    La Fontanella
    Pelham. NY
    http://www.fontanella-pelham.com/

    Other than HOOTERS I recommmend:

    Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen
    Houston, Texas
    http://www.sylviasenchiladakitchen.com/
Average two person dinner with drink's $40-$50

I have eaten there since her first very tiny, hole in the wall, restuarant opened across the street from my house in '98. Everything and I mean everything homemade and made daily all the way down to Ms. Sylvia grinding her own spice's. The restuarant is consistantly written up as one of the best in Houston.

Oh for goodness sake shut up already.

This is a thread about restaurants. So, I'll see if I can get it back on track.

Here in Philly, there are no restaurants, we only have diners. And they are one star diners at that. (OOPS, started a sentence with and.)

Smelly Minelli's is near me, it earned the nickname. They actually had to tear it down to the ground and rebuild it to get rid of the rats. True story.

Now, as to the rats in this thread, go away. Argue by PM, don't clutter up a perfectly good thread with your inane bullcrap.

    Thanks oh so much,

    DM

Everyone here in Los Angeles already knows the good places that are pricey so Ill post an inexpensive place that most dont know of but is AMAZING.

    Las Fuentes
18415 Vanowen St (yes in the Valley !)
    Reseda CA 91335
    708 3344

$ 30 for two people (sorry couldnt find a website)

The single best mexican (not tex mex) food I have ever had anywhere.

Its always packed with a line out the door. Its not in the greatest part of town but the establishment itself is VERY clean and nice inside with authentic hand carved mexican furniture that you have to see to believe.

If you live in LA you HAVE to try this place at least once..I guarantee you will go back.

Anyone remember the Bugs Bunny cartoon French-Rarebit? It was the eposide where the two French chefs fight over Bugs and he shows them how to cook?

Bugs Bunny: Of course, if you really want to make something good, nothing beats a good old Louisiana Back-bay Bayou Bunny Bordelaise, a la Antoine.
Francois: A la Antoine? This Antoine of New Orleans?
Bugs Bunny: I don't mean Antoine of Flatbush.

So I allways wanted to go to Antoine's when I grew up. Finally went there in about 1990.

    Antoine's
    New Orleans
    Expensive
The waiters speak french, and at the time I was fluent, so I impressed the hell out of my date. (In my mind, at least.)

If you're in Houston, looking for a great Tex-Mex place:

    Lupe Tortilla

The best quesadillas hands down I've ever had. Salsa is actually chunky. Damn it's so good.
