Does anybody have news regarding the "new Dino" which could be in serial production early 2008. I foudn this on internet, but no more recent news. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/204171/ferrari_420_dino.html Best regards, PS: the new F12008 is launched today in Maranello ...
This has all been done to death in the Dino section i think you will find those pics are just a design study the car is just a CGI (computer generated image) if memory serves me its from a saudi design student but feel free to use the search in the Dino section to get all the gossip.
It will not be called Dino. Now factory code name is "F149". Official name is unknown at this time. Expected launch time is Paris Auto Show. More information - http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=177157. Best.
thats what i thought too. the front looks exactly like a Porsche. i think Ferrari messed up in that design because that cars is ugly.
someone in the Frebch section (FCF) said it s : 308288430512gt4otr ! appropried formule for this car?
Take a look at the result of one of FChat's most popular threads. Over 200,000 hits. Jon's Dino will be at Bella Italia. Check it out and come on down to cheer him. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=188126 John
Hard to choose, from all the great restoration/repair/the FrankenFerrari and, of course, your own Saga threads, but his just may be the best single current thread here. I know I've learned much.
Jean Todt already confirmed a new car for Paris, but here at last is the be all and end all proof: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/17/rumormill-hot-wheels-leaks-ferrari-dino-confirmation/
I remember my dealer informing me about the "F430 CS" Hot Wheels release before the Scuderia was ever announced. So it's not new, I guess (then again, it could just have been pure speculation from my dealer)
Word on the street is that Fiat has confirmed that it will launch a new "Dino" branded car based on the next Lotus Elise. Personally, I think this could be a way to create sufficient sales volume to support expanded Alpha/Ferrari/Maserati dealers Stateside. Let the debate begin... http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/News/Search-Results/Industry-News/Fiat-to-launch-an-Elise-named-Dino/
Nice! I don't know if it's good that they chose the Elise as a base - an English chassis for an Italian sportscar is a bit of a sacrilege, but then again it is a fantastic piece of machinery, and it makes sure that Fiat doesn't just grab one of their FWD platforms, slap a nice body on it and call it Dino...
To revive the Dino name with Lotus is just wrong. If it were a Fiat engine, well at least it would be Italian. Use another name if they want to tem up with Lotus.
I disagree. In this era of platform sharing, the extruded aluminum Lotus chassis makes a lot of sense. A car's character can largely be engineered in and a lightweight, flexible platform like Lotus' is a very good option. But I do agree about the question of engine -- An Italian car without Italian motivation could be seen to be a pretender. Perhaps one of the Fiat fours or the Alpha Romeo tuned V6? To my eyes (and ears) the latter engine could be a proper successor to a 246 GTS and, if priced correctly, could be an excellent opportunity to build a volume sports car franchise without detracting from Ferrari's exclusivity.
